Why I Hate December · 8:47am Dec 11th, 2017
Normally I would do an update about projects I am working on and stuff, but today I decided to explain why December is not my favorite month of the year. I know this will probably anger some of you, but I hope you will all hear me out.
You have been warned.
I will now proceed to mention the reasons why I hate this time of year.
1. It's BLOODY cold.
Here up in Spokane, WA it becomes very cold during the winter and if the pellet stove stops working it gets even worse.
2. Snow
It gets everywhere. It is wet. It is cold. If snow was warm and fluffy, I would love it. But since it isn't I don't like it. Also if it isn't already clear by now I hate the cold.
3. It's BLOODY crowded!
I'm Claustrophobic, which means crowded areas actually frighten me, and I'm not joking. I have actually had anxiety attacks in crowded stores like Walmart and Costco. It isn't fun, and when it comes to a season where everyone is out just to get stuff for themselves and they don't care if they bump into you or not (or run you over for that matter), makes it that much worse.
4. Historical Inaccuracy.
This next section is about some religious beliefs, so if this makes you uncomfortable feel free to skip to number 5.
Sorry to offend any of you who are Catholic, but I have bad news for you. Jesus wasn't born in December, more likely then not his birth was in the spring. What evidence do I have for this, actually quite a bit, for starters I have an aunt who actually is a shepardess, and going off both the information provided in the Bible and by my aunt, Jesus was born during lamming season, which would be in the spring.
Also I can tell you that the origins of the holiday being "Christ birth" goes back to the fact that the empire of Rome at the time, who actually invented Catholicism, had done numerous things (including the invention of various "christian" holidays) in an attempt to draw both pagans and Jews into his beliefs and sadly Christmas (or Christ Mass) is no different. It was created based off of the ideas of various religions including Greek, Egyptian and Celtic that their sun gods would be reborn on the solstice.
Also while Jesus's birth is great, his sacrifice is in my opinion way more important.
There is more evidence pointing toward it being Spring, but I am lazy and don't feel like creating a costroversal blog, my objective is to point out the things I have about this month so let's move onto the next one.
5. They did it TOO early.
Christmas hype is often done too early (especially here in Spokane). Need I say more?
6. Chorals are annoying.
You hear them 1 year, you heard them the next year. They never really change and I would rather hear Heavy Metal on my radio then Christmas songs non stop. It is annoying.
7. Santa is scary.
He sees you when your sleeping... totally not a frightening idea what so ever.
8. People can be extremely ungrateful.
For a holiday that is supposed to be about giving, most people only care about the receiving and receiving stuff they want. Seriously I kind of wish Thanksgiving came after Christmas just so people would have to be grateful for what they get.

Well, there you have it. There are my reason why I am not a big fan of this season. I hope I didn't offend any of you too much.
So happy holidays, I hope you all have some safe travels and enjoy your time with your families.
You’re afraid of Santa Claus!?
Lol jk.
You mean “carols,” I believe, and I agree. You, my friend, need some blank CDs, or something like Pandora, listenonrepeat, or a tape player.
And he’s faster than Genocide Sans.
While I agree, I don’t believe December is even the worst month for the latter; it’s just the month of the starkest examples.
4746070 Nope, just crowds.
I'm not saying that people being ungrateful is the main reason for my distaste for the season, merely that it adds to the list of things that make the month annoying for me.
But again these are just my opinions.

Fair.
