Review Roundup: November 6th - December 1st · 12:29am Dec 6th, 2017

It's December, and that means it's time to put on your Christmas hats! Join all the cool kids in doing so, if you find it to be a low-effort way to interact with the community and to generally have a little seasonal fun. Or don't, if you find the avatar hats affectatious and juvenile. Your call, but personally? I think they're a cool little tradition. Plus, it's one of TD's most lasting contributions to the fandom, and I think it's nice to have these kinds of traditions. Merry Jinglemas to all, and to all a good December!

Over on my blog, I'll be mixing the seasonal fics with the usual crop for the rest of the month. But if you aren't even caught up on last month, fret not! Head down below the break to see what fics I've reviewed, and what other stuff I've written about:

Monday, November 6, 2017: How Video Games Conspire to Ruin My D&D Sessions

A brief digression from the usual review stuff to talk about what happens when a party asks for something, and the DM provides it... only to discover that the party and the DM aren't on the same page, after all.

Friday, November 10, 2017: Fandom Classics Part 235: The Three Whooves

My review of Paleo Prints' tale of the Doctor, the Doctor, the Doctor, and their respective companions going on an adventure through time and space! Well, mostly time, as the tripling-up might suggest.

Friday, November 17, 2017: Regarding Christopher Tolkien

Wherein I pre-emptively fret about the oncoming disaster that is what will presumably become of Middle-Earth's treatment in popular culture and merchandising.

Monday, November 20, 2017: Fandom Classics Part 236: The Trouble With Genealogy

My review of Arroz's story about Luna's furritive research project, and why she's so interested one pony's family tree.

Short reviews of Mind Your Eldersby Denim_Blue; and Freedom Flourishes, by The Hat Man.

Monday, November 27, 2017: Fandom Classics Part 237: Just an Assistant

My review of RadicalDishonesty's look at how Twilight treats Spike--and what historical parallels can be drawn from that.

Thanks for continuing to remind us occasionally of the write-ups! I for one keep forgetting to visit your site :twilightblush: but always am entertained when I do.

:rainbowhuh: Odd. The previous blog ends October 20th, but this one starts November 6th. This seems too obvious a gap to be due to oversight, but I'm dashed if I can explain what design would necessitate such a gap. Is there an explanation for it?
