The last night · 4:49am Dec 4th, 2017
This is the last night I'll ever spend in this house. It's been a good night. DJ brought home a whole slew of leftovers from work, so we ended up having sloppy joes, and for the first time I several years, I had a glass of milk. I'm horribly lactose intolerant, and so I'll sure be regretting that in the morning!
Ah but it was worth it!
Overall it's been a good day. Drained Lana's tank and put the tiny terror in the bathtub with a fluffy towel to snuggle up in. I hope she likes it.
Oh man, it hasn't even been ten minutes since the milk and I'm already gassy.
So tomorrow, if I have internet and everything goes smoothly, I'll be writing from a completely different house, several hours' drive from here.
I'm going to miss these people, and if I'm going to be honest with myself, (which I need to be more) this city. I always tell everyone I hate living here, but the truth is that I enjoy it. It's a city, and sure it's a bad one, and yes I live right on the very edge of the ghetto (it literally ends at my street, so I'm still in it), but for the last three (only three? Seems like at least five) years, it's been home. And I'll miss it.
So here's to a fresh start, to new beginnings, and to brighter days.
And to you my friends, may your cups never run dry, your beds never empty, and your stomachs always full.
