    Some major personal updates

I'll get right to the point: I got a new job! :pinkiehappy:

While I enjoyed my previous work, it was mostly thoughtless data entry and wasn't even close to full-time. I have clawed my way out of the welfare trap.

Progress Report #2, and a Question

Question first: Does anybody know what happened to Swift Blade Productions? I could've sworn when I trailed off that they were a rising audio reading channel. Now I can't even find them on YouTube. :rainbowderp:

    Howdy, all!

I'm curious if anyone has plans for this Hallow's Eve. I don't have much worked out for it yet myself.

Birthday and Misc. Updates · 9:54pm Nov 20th, 2017

My birthday was nice. I didn't get to play as much Fallout: New Vegas as I would have liked to have played, but all in all, it was nice.

We had lasagna and garlic bread (guaranteed effective kidnap bait for me) and an ice cream cake. I got a couple books from the Skyrim Anthology, some nice cards, some cash, and a tablet holder.

My uncle Dave was around for the weekend so we could celebrate his birthday, as well. He took me out to a local bar he likes and let me try some drinks since I'm currently legal to consume alcohol. I didn't like most of the things I tried, and he didn't oblige me to finish anything I didn't like. Before we left for there, I got to just taste a Burgundy wine, some other wine, and a taste of straight whiskey to get an idea of the spectrum of alcohol taste I might be getting into.
My first was a screwdriver.
My second was a Kamikaze on rocks, which I liked.
One involved root beer schnapps with Bailey's Irish Cream and something else.
I also got to try Jägermeister.
And there was a thing our bartender called a "Kansas City Cooler," but it's apparently a Kansas City Ice Water, which we tried because I liked the Kamikaze.

I think I would have liked the Jagermeister in something else like root beer, but on its own, I didn't like it. Uncle Dave said our bartender wasn't very good. In light of the facts that the Jägermeister was room temperature, Wikipedia tells me Kamikazes are supposed to be served without ice, and she got the name wrong on the Kansas City Ice Water, I guess he was correct, and I didn't know any better last night. Still, he says I could probably get a Kamikaze at any bar, so I have a go-to, at least, for future outings.

I did not consume nearly enough alcohol quickly enough to feel a whole lot, apparently. I was also fairly full from lunch. Sorry. No shenanigans. :rainbowwild: Although I did manage, during his relatively short stay, to persuade him to download Steam and start playing Wasteland, one of the games he had as a kid, the very same game I love.

We're going to have to see what other projects I get done this week. I do have a bit of homework and study to catch up on ahead of me. I didn't even get everything done today I had intended.

I ran into some trouble trying to take out some of my stake in Bitcoin. My checking account with my preferred host didn't show any deposits for verification, and there's no customer service number for my host that I can contact. My bank tells me that nothing recent has occurred with my account, which is otherwise true, and so I'm frustrated because I cannot otherwise sell off some of my Bitcoin. I've spent a good part of this evening trying to root-out the cause. I will make attempts tomorrow.

There are other miscellaneous errands I did not get to run today on account of several other holdups.

On the other hand, I do have something good to mention. I often grapple with a sense of irrelevance. I happened to stumble across a forum post, though, that made me feel better.

An attempt to list MLP-relevant YouTube audio readers. :pinkiehappy: One in which my channel, to my pleasant surprise, appears alongside most of the greats. It's a step. It's not like Google doesn't mistake my channel name for the Salad Fingers Creepypasta, but SOMEDAY, maybe, it won't!

Aww.. If I know I want have make a cake

4730875
:trollestia: It’s still as delicious today.

the 2 year old cake is still delicious

Happy Birthday! Your uncle made a wise selection of drinks as an introduction, though it's a shame that the bartender was a bit clueless. I found alcohol to be very much an acquired taste. If you don't mind, here are some further recommendations:

Liquor
-rum & coke with lime (my personal favorite)
-Jack Daniels and coke (if rum is not available)
-Zombie (see bartender - if you don't feel something after one of these, you have skill. Also, drink from the bottom)
-Johnny Walker (red or black)
-Jameson, the older the better
-Grey Goose vodka (lots of flavors to choose from)
-Amaretto, Chambord or Frangelico & milk (for dessert)
-Rumple Minz (great in hot chocolate)
-Goldschlager (NOT Aftershock)

Beer
-Guinness extra stout, served at room temperature or slightly warm
-Any microbrew stout (coffee flavor is a plus), but beware of amateurs
-Yeungling (you should be able to find it easily where you are :raritywink:)
-Magic Hat #9
-Dark Horse Sapient if you can find it
-Sam Adams Octoberfest, Cherry Wheat, Winter Ale, Boston Lager
-Coors if you want to ease in. Easy to overdrink as alcohol % is low
-Heinekin
-Rolling Rock
-Miller
-Land Shark
-Corona

Wine (wine snobs would punch me, but ...)
-Yellow Tail Shiraz, Merlot or Pinot Noir
-I'm not a huge fan of white or champagne, but you might enjoy it

Odd about the bitcoin. Always seemed like a risky venture to me (I presume there are relatively few players), but some seem to have success with it.

Happy Birthday :)

Thank you very kindly, Tynal and Themeta. Have I ever told you two how adorable your respective avatars are? I've been meaning to remark.

Thank you, the dobermans. At the very least, it was a great time to talk. At best, the Edisonian mindset is satisfied: I've discovered things that don't work, which can be just as crucial as finding things that do.

I found alcohol to be very much an acquired taste.

Understandable. My grandparents said something similar. I also figure it becomes more drinkable the more one starts to feel its effects.

:pinkiehappy: I don't know why you put all that in spoilers. I appreciate the recommendations.

Goldschlager

That might've been what was mixed with the Bailey's and root beer schnapps.

but beware of amateurs

You mean amateurs in the sense of amateur microbrewers, right? Also, I do not drink coffee and despise the taste, so I'm afraid I wouldn't like any drink coffee-flavored. :twilightsheepish:

wine snobs would punch me, but ...

I judge drinks, not tastes. :ajsmug:

Odd about the bitcoin. Always seemed like a risky venture to me (I presume there are relatively few players), but some seem to have success with it.

I disagree on the relatively few players point, actually. I think the currency's value is supported by the sheer zeal of a bunch of people and the trepidatious speculation of a great, silent many. My uncle Dave bought me fifty dollars' worth two or three years ago, and I bought fifty two dollars' more last March or so. My holdings before that purchase were worth around $280, and it's now worth around $980 combined. :rainbowderp: I don't expect to get these kind of returns any other time in my life, so I wish to sell now before the bubble bursts. I intend to leave about $50 in it. If it keeps going, great, but I've had my fun with Bitcoin. I can do other things with those gains.

4731405
Yea, I remember you told me that before :3

4731526
Also, I meant to mention: I have been playing the Lonesome Road DLC for Fallout New Vegas. I like it! Almost at Ulysses’s Temple.

4731635
I remember that DLC.. Its pretty nice

4731651
Yes. I wish I could emulate Ulysses’s voice. :rainbowlaugh:

It actually was challenging for me as a fully leveled character, which was great. It felt very final. Like an actual end to the game.

4731883
Yep it does!

4732048
Went through the Courier's Mile yesterday. I lost count of how many irradiated deathclaws were there. Died several times trying to kill everything in one go without leaving. :rainbowlaugh:

4732253
That part scares me XD

4732257
:pinkiecrazy: Me, too. I inadvertently shot a nuclear missile and was walking through the ground zero with things not only alive there but stronger for it. I had my flare gun, but that wasn't enough. I brought my fully custom GRA Anti-Material Rifle and sniped as much as I could. I used one Stealth Boy. I went through so much RadAway, I think my character has been effectively sterilized. :rainbowlaugh:

4732309
The first time, I literally shot a Fatman 3 inches in front of one

The results were not that great

4732409
Oh no. :rainbowlaugh: Even if you survived that, they were probably all over you.

Yes, one time I was attempting this, I could hear a Deathclaw running for me, and before I even realized it was behind me, I was ragdolling. :rainbowlaugh: When I did succeed, I bet that made Ulysses glad I spared him.

4732435
XD, he better be glad

4732517
My intention, going into the finale, is to talk down Lanius and then take him out as he runs away, but I don't know if he becomes essential if I do talk him down.

4732524
I think he might be

4732571
I will be sure to save before I attempt that. :twilightsheepish:

I still have two of the DLCs left to play through. I don’t think I will try to play them this break, though.

4732598
I played every single DLC it had to offer... Which two are the ones you haven't played?

4732632
Dead Money and Honest Hearts.

4732654
Dead money is my favorite one

Honest hearts is good too. But again, Dead money was better to me

4732819
It’s gonna be tough to beat Lonesome Road and Old World Blues. :trollestia: But it’s nice to know I have something to look forward to still. I know Dead Money refers to a storyline involving the Elijah character Ulysses mentioned and Honest Hearts involves Joshua Graham, the burned man.

4732943
Yea... There is also suppose to be a reward at the end of Dead Money which is pretty awesome... But some people got it and some people don't...

4733050
Oh? Care to elaborate? :rainbowderp:

4733181
I wish I could... But I didn't get this 'item' and I don't believe that its real and people are making stuff up.

4733193
Well, there are numerous glitches for the game. I was wondering how I could hone my search so that I might avoid it.

4733226
Can't give you advice there :applejackunsure:

4733381
Did it involve the gold bars? :rainbowhuh:

4733414
I think not

4733423
Elijah’s cloak, a quest prompt, a speech/skill check, a unque weapon?

4733426
I think its a weapon

4733479
Hm. I’m not sure what might be the issue you’re specifically referring to. There aren’t many weapons or uniques. :rainbowhuh:

4733551
That's why I'm calling it fake

4733551
And I realized that this blog is being overrun with our comments XD

4733578
There do exist many bugs for the DLC, though. Perhaps the story you heard is true, but the details are messed up.

4733579
I do not consider that a problem. :pinkiecrazy: You should see the comment chains on some of my other blogs.

4733632
:derpytongue2: Well, if it bugs out (more than it normally does for me), then I will be sure to mention.
