Youtube just deleted my channel... · 4:53pm Nov 20th, 2017
...that I've had since 2005.
It appears that they're deleting entire channels with videos containing the phrase "New Lunar." Since I received an email from them (at the exact same time as the one saying that my account had been permanently deleted) claiming that my 2011 video "the New Lunar Republic: a Call to Arms" had violated community guidelines, I have to believe that's what happened to me.
I'm beyond furious right now. I had personal videos on that channel that I don't have access to anymore.
That's not good. Contact them is what I'd do if I were you.
Good ol’ YouTube, letting you know you’ve broken the rules while very carefully not mentioning what rules you broken, or providing any evidence that the rules you’ve allegedly broken even exist.
This is what happens when you leave everything up to the algorithm.

There is a reason for this. People used Lunar repbulic to post porn. So let google know you didn't do that and they will get it back up.

Like Megaskullmon said, it is because they are blindfiring, aiming for the words "New Lunar", as it was a codeword used to spread porn. Contact them and let them know that you're not one of those (they can see your videos and will know that you never did that), and your channel will be restored.
As others have mentioned, there's a way to get your channel back. YouTube did a stupid thing, they were aiming for a phrase that was a code word for pornographic material, but they didn't bother to set up a system that would catch the material and instead they decided to go for a blanket content strike down of anything with that phrase.
I was waiting for someone to get hit by this. D: Get back to them, like everyone's saying. It's another case of dropping the hammer and asking for forgiveness later.
It's because YouTube is trying to censor right-wing videos, and isn't even bothering to check too hard tht tthey are right-wing videos. In the process, they are providing us with an object lesson in why (1) YouTube is an untrustworthy platform, and (2) censorship is bad.

4730870 Sadly, that may be so. But if you've been hit by that blanket takedown of "New Lunar Republic" stuff, they really should reinstate it. I guess the only option left, would be for someone to use this and bring a lawsuit against YouTube and Google for violating 1st Amendment protections.

That sounds... strange. I mean, if you're not one of the people who shared porn on Youtube, then they have no right or reason to suspend your account. You have followed the guidelines (I assume), and is being unjustly punished.
Maybe try to take direct contact to Youtube? I'm not sure if it'll work, but if they have made it so you can't appeal through the site itself, your only other choice is to go around and contact them directly.

That wouldn't work. It isn't a restriction on free speech or the right to religion. Not to mention Youtube, as a company and website, has the right to determine what they want, and don't want, on their site. The 1st Amendment only applies to the US government, protecting the citizens of the US from laws that would either censor them or restrict their right to religion, or a bunch of other things. It does not apply to online platforms, as they are well within their right to say that they will not tolerate X or Y.
4730936 I'm pretty sure YouTube and Google censoring Right Wing (or Left Wing in Google's case) opinions and content, regardless of what they may advocate, would still be a violation of Freedom of Speech and the Equal Protection clause. It's a case of "I don't agree with what you have said, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Freedom of speech only prohibits the governments ability to make censor people. Youtube and other companies are not covered by this, in the sense that they are places with rules of their own.
But while people have the right to say whatever they want, that is under no circumstances to be seen as protection from the consequences of what happens when you say it. That is why places like Youtube, Twitter, etc. have the right to ban your ass if what you say does not conform to their guidelines. It's not violating your right to free speech, but punishing you for not following their rules, something they have every right to do.
But this is completely besides the point of what this blog is about. We're not talking about free speech and what not, but Youtube banning people unjustly for something they did not do.
