I've just finished watching the season finale, and this is the second time the writers threw a wrench into my plans. Amusingly, with the tree of Harmony again, this time with added Starswirl. Unfortunately, the whole plot point with Starswirl's journal makes my path with the third Blade of Balance a bit more difficult to write. Plus, the origin of the Tree of Harmony.
On the other hand, Harmony being a manipulating asshole smart enough to make the best and the brightest work for him, believing it's for good, is still my lore I can keep, and we can chalk up the Pony of Shadows as the Nightmare's avatar preceeding Luna.
So, no real spoilers if you haven't seen the finale yet. The pony of Shadows's animations were pretty properly eldrich, is all I'm going to say.
