Daylight savings and Canada’s short winter days threw my sleep schedule for a loop. Ugh.
Bad news: keyboard didn’t work out. Same pain as some large mice. 
Still pushing onwards, though. Writing, editing, outlining.
To encourage me to blog more, I’m going to try to answer questions you guys have (without spoiling stuff ;) ). To start with: I’ve noticed a few questions over the last few years on exactly how Twilight's teleport works to make her “fly.”
Her normal, not-pretending-to-be-flying teleport has two settings. There’s the first one which conserves all the momentum she has going into the teleport (think of the game Portal), and the second which nullifies all relative momentum that she has going in.
Her new teleport, originally developed by Shining Armor (who has a degree in physics), first breaks down her momentum into directional vectors and acceleration (and effective mass but she doesn’t touch that one for good reason). Then, it allows her to tweak the spell as needed to add, multiply, or subtract from these values at will, and that takes effect after she exits the teleport.
So, by changing those values, she could go from standing to flying upwards at 45 degrees up and 30 degrees right, with an instantaneous acceleration of 25 meters per second squared.
However, once the teleport is over, normal physics takes over, including air resistance and gravitational acceleration. She can mitigate the first somewhat with her pegasus magic. Messing with the second would need a different spell.

I'd be interested on getting a codified sort of write-up on bonded weapons/cored gems and how they all work; was looking for one, but couldn't find the info without having to trawl through the earlier chapters again.
Great story and chapters always make for a great day, take your time. I love them but don't destroy yourself.

If unicorns steadily gain power as they age, does that mean that in the far future, when lifespans are much longer due to improved magic/technology, unicorns starting ascension might become more common?
If so, given that "ascensions is eventful", will that be the end of the world?
On another note, do the peaks directly connect to the aspects of magic (body growth > earth pony, horn growth = unicorn, wing growth = Pegasus), and will have massive boosts for that aspect upon fully reaching said peak, or does each peak increase abilities more evenly?
