Hello all, firstly I just wanna let you know that I'm alive.
Man, that's kind of depressing, when I have to do a blog post to let people know I'm still here. Anyway, I'm sorry to say that Whittler update won't be happening until after I get back in a week. Next chapter is almost done, and it was my sole intention to have it posted before I left, but between getting sick and both of my trucks breaking down I've been busy. Also, this latest chapter is becoming longer than I'd planned; when I got to my "half way" mark I was at 6k words... oops. Miiiiiight end up making it another two part chapter. What are your thoughts? Leave a comment and I'll decide when I get back.
I also have several chapters of An Even Worse Self Insert sitting around, but I've not had the strength to get them cleaned up and posted. Between being drunk and sick... well, it's not a great combo for writing lets just say, so hopefully those will also come around when I get back.
Also also, a few weeks ago I actually got around to dusting off an old fic of mine on here, The Replacements. I may actually get around to posting a chapter of that and taking it off the Dead list. Wouldn't that be something?
All hope is not lost, thankfully! I'm also taking my typewriter with me, cause I got a special fic I've been working on that I plan to finish while I'm up there... you know, if I'm not too busy being drunk and stupid.
It's a funny thing. I think deer season is the only time a guy is excusable to pack multiple bags and cases, like those stereotypical city girls in those motion pictures, where they have all those bags just for a couple days. Then again, when you're going someplace with no running water or electricity, well you kinda want extra clothes. Also baby wipes... those are a god send when you're on day five and feel like you're ready to peel off your skin like a snake.
Last thing, come sometime in December, I plan to start figuring out how to do commissions. Work is getting slow, as it always does in the winter time, so I'm gonna be exploring a few ways to go about it. Just simple shit for now, one shots, up to about 5k words, just to see how well it goes. If you got some ideas in your head you wanna see on fimfic, remember them, 'cause I might be that guy to write them! (And yes, I'll be allowing OC's and sloppy make out scenes, just nothing mature... yet.)
So I guess that about wraps it up. And as always in my Deer Camp posts, I end it with the song of my people. If you're going hunting this year, have a safe and good time. If you're anything like me, you'll be killing more beer cans than deer, but hey, that's what it's all about.
(I lied, last last thing, I went and saw Casablanca in theaters for it's 75th anniversary on Wednesday. That was a lot of fun. Check out Fathomevents.com for their classic movie listings.)
