Going on an unexpected, but short, vacation

I will be mostly away from all things electronic due to the vacation.

Writing still going well though- won't write stuff on my phone unless inspiration strikes, since this is a family vacation over at least a few days of my nieces' spring break, and I know I'm all about some vague idea of "routine" and editing on my phone is possible but not my favorite thing to do.

See you in a few days.

    Writing Again

Have been chipping away at the next chapter of my big G5 story and I relaxed by playing the new Yakuza/ Like a Dragon game. Almost no lifed it, had an absolute blast with the story and characters and coming back to writing my own stuff feels fresh again.

Dunno when its coming out because sometimes I work on two stories concurrently but stuff is back to normal and that's a good thing.

Released another story- not my normal fare

I work on a few different projects between the big ones I focus on. I've spent like 2-3 years on this one to make me even comfortable to release it.

Plan to release a chapter a day until its done. (There's 3 total chapters so its going to be a rather quick release)

Going to be away for a few days due to the holidays, writing is slow but consistent

An early Merry Crimbus to everyone and I'm working on two or three different stories at once so the overall progress is slow but I don't foresee me releasing much of anything in January unless I focus hardcore on one story.

Might do that, but no promises. Still happy holidays and all that stuff. See you soon in 2024.

This chapter so far or so far what I like to call "stuff happened but like not really" · 9:02am Nov 16th, 2017

This chapter so far outside of like 1100 words setting up the whole going to the Acres to help Applejack for Cider Season cause in the story its October (that does mean that if this unless goes on long enough Halloween chapter, but I digress) so outside of the whole thing here we have a hardcore look into Applejack- which at this point I thought should be necessary cause well I've written a lot of Twilight and Pinkie stuff and get what they are doing in the story but that boils down to in effect Twilight's life being a complete joke with how unstable and weird magic can be and outright causing her mental headaches. Pinkie's chill on like everything except the few times she gets heated but that's Pinkie.

But like I'm 6000 words in and like I have three to four scenes. Some of them in this got super talky, which I'm dealing with I guess. I like brevity for some things and heavy dialogue still kind of is a thing I'm still getting used to. You know like having 6000-8000 word chapters on a decently regular basis. If you asked me a year ago that'd I do that I'd think you were insane. But yeah this one has some sexual aftermath and with the seeming idea that mixing love and anything magical is like the most stupid idea ever in magical horse land that's going to be great.

Also character flaw for Fluttershy- making ponies feel better by lying is not a good idea and will probably be called out later.

But a thing I keep doing- mostly to help me continue writing at such a rapid pace cause otherwise I'd be pulling monthy or never releases is bury super important things I can tie into the story later. Everything Fluttershy will say about the whole process of kids in that pretty much each city has yearly cycles of childbirths in certain times of the year means tythat unless a pony moved in from out of town they should have similar birthdays to their classmates. Which I guess would make some sense in the show since Diamond Tiara had a lot of ponies at her party- though that was also because she was rich and 'popular' but this would also make Pinkie's party planning a little easier and make her displays of parties make sense- if she only had to plan mostly for one massive party season in a town then it would mean she could focus on that and plan for it.

A darker idea though is if the pony doesn't fit into the general season of birthdays and didn't come from out of town, there could have been infidelity with their parents.

Or like the Apple Family, tend to focus on harvest season to get down to that kind of business.

Yes, for some unforeseen reason I have spent a few days randomly thinking of how mating rituals and seasonal cycles work thanks to thinking "well I guess these ponies are pretty much horses with civilization so how do x and if horses have a basic seasonal thing they do, what if ponies do similar stuff but population centers have different seasons for this mating time.

Either I'm super bored or went "crap, I have to make sense as to why Applejack needed Rarity's help for a problem she had in like chapter three and why Rarity would sort of need Twilight's spell but also I have ideas for later and need to do something about that and this is a step in that direction. A really long haul idea and I needed to introduce at least some of Rarity Applejack dynamic and the Apple Family- outside of that mention that Big Mac is gay in Rarity, Dash, and Fluttershy's spa date in like chapter 2, I have not touched on them at like all. I can make that be because Cider Season is a thing that would happen in Fall, but like there's a point I need to start building character interactions in certain characters.

That or the idea that there needs to be some sexual stuff every few chapters, which I don't usually like focusing on and seemingly try to either make a point in a later chapter or make a little gag into haha, that might not be funny, after reflection seems to be my mode of writing. Sometimes it works sometimes it falls flat- but every thing I write I try to make a point or inform a character. I can't say everything in the story is super important cause that's impossible and not everything is like perfect. But it works and that's the best I can hope for.

Pretty much birthdays in this magical world of ponies I am directing seem to have birthdays be super important. Like if you have a kid out of the normal time, unless your family is well known to do that, like the Apples, then the entire town or at least your whole friend group starts thinking they should judge a pony. And sometimes it involves ponies cutting others out of their lives to follow the general herd mentality and pretty much ruin ponies lives cause they broke some unspoken rule.

Feel like it might come out soonish. I just spent like 3 to 4000 words on like two scenes at this point I don't even know what length is now. Cause like I don't plan for tangents like this. And yet its now not a tangent at all because now I see how something as weirdly trivial as a birthday could be important. And that's going to come up later. Like not a lot a lot but it now makes sense why the memories I'm creating for some characters could be so vaguely depressing.

I have found a point to follow on something at some point and it only took what feels like 2/3s of the current word count of a chapter. By this point, I feel like I'm rambling so I'm good here, its like 3 am.
