Apologies to the fans who have patiently awaited my next story, and even to those fans who have complained I'm taking too long but stopped at that: You guys are all fucking awesome and I love you.
To those who message me asking if you can write the official prequel or sequel or sequel's sequel to Rainbow Factory: Fuck no, you can't write the official ANYTHING. You can, however, write absolutely anything you wish as fanfiction, unsanctioned, un-canon, of RF. I love it when you guys decide to write your own takes on it, honest, I love it. But you cannot go around saying what you wrote is the actual sequel. Understood? Cool. Go off and write, young bucks.
Secondly, to those who have *already* written RF fanfiction, *NO* I will not help you edit it, no I will not read it, and no I will not collaborate with you on finishing it. I do not have time. It's a miracle I've manage to find time to even make it to the final chapter of Pegasus Device. I don't even read *any* fiction any more. No time. And it's unfair. I get at least a request a week: How could I possibly keep up with that?
Thirdly, don't message me telling me how to write or what to write or how the sequel should go. The *ONLY* time you guys can send me an *idea* of what to write is with Mythbuckers, and even then, I'll still write what I feel tells the best story. No getting upset when I don't answer "how does luna make clouds turn black" in it, mmkay?
I love your comments, guys, I do. Even the most vile, hate-filled critiques make me happy. And, if you're starting a unique project like a song or a movie, or even a picture, I encourage you to send it to me via FIMfiction or my gmail account. But as of today, whenever I get a message like the ones above, I'm just going to reply with this post. It's gotten so tiring, having all the comments on my work- good or bad- drowned out by "HEY READ MY STORY. HEY I WROTE THE PREQUEL READ IT AND EDIT IT FOR ME. HEY YOU HAVEN'T REPLIED TO ME YET IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS I'M GOING TO DROWN MYSELF. btw to make sure canon matches celestia has to burn down the factory in mythbuckers okay so do that bye"

I actually think you should take a short break from writing the sequel. You seem kinda stressed. We can wait for the sequel, and I don't want you overworking yourself.

Basically you're taking what I like to call the "Kkat Stance". You don't give a flying fuck if anyone writes shit about your story.
At least, that's what I got from it.
I can understand a fan getting excited and wanting to show you their work. I can even understand them wanting to know if they can somehow be part of the mythos of your story and request to be involved deeper. But asking you to edit the story?
What is that? I wouldn't ask anyone, especially someone I don't know personally, to do the most meticulous and boring part of the writing process for me.

I don't know how much free time you have, but a story a week doesn't seem all that much to me. Unless they're asking you to edit, too, which is silly. I'm not disagreeing with you, getting requests is probably the worst possible way to find fanfics to read.

They are asking for it to be edited, usually, and that's an average. Some weks I get one a day, two a day, I had five once. Some weeks I get none.

And I also just want to say that, if someone is making a work (let's call it A) that is related to another work (B), it is never okay to ask the author of work A for any kind of input on work B. The power to make sequels, canon works, and other things lies only with the original author. I completely agree with Aurora, and I think that this rule should apply to ALL fanfiction. I hereby dub this rule "The Law of the Factory."

As one writer to another don't let people get to you. I may not write any fimfics but the current saga I'm writing has been under a lot of fire by people. I ignore them or I'd never get the chapters done. Keep up the good work.
