I discovered my Spirit Animal · 1:13pm Nov 14th, 2017

I recently took a test from the African Wild Life Foundation to discover my African Spirit Animal. It was a short test that only took a minute or two. I answered a few questions and found out my spirit animal.

Apparently, it's a black rhino. At first, I thought it was silly but turns out we're more alike than I realized.
1. We both like eating vegetables. The black rhino is a herbivore and I've always liked eating veggies and fruit.
2. We're both solitary. Unlike its more social counterpart the white rhino, the black rhino tends to live solitary lives. I'm an introvert by nature and prefer to spend time alone, reading, writing, and studying.
3. We don't have the best vision. The black rhino is partially blind and often charges at random. I'm near-sighted and struggle to see over distances without contacts or glasses.

A few other things I learned about the black rhino:
They are critically endangered. "Their only predators are humans. Hunted and killed for their horns, their population has decreased 97.6% since 1960. African Wildlife Foundation is the only conservation organization working solely on the continent of Africa to protect the black rhino, as well as more than 80 other imperiled species."

I'm always passionate about animals and nature, and will sign any petition I can to help preserve nature and protect animals for our future generations. Learning about the black rhino's plight made me want to help it even more.

Anyways, it was a cool test that opened my eyes to a creature I never thought about. If you'd like to take the quiz yourself, I'll post a link in this blog. Who knows? Maybe you'll learn something new about African wildlife.

4725232 Well, I don't know about charging. Maybe if I ate hallucinogenic mushrooms and thought you were a poacher. Thankfully, that's a big maybe.
