The purpose of a story is that it's a story. It can be more, but it can never be less.

    Friendship is Magic: the Musical

So I've been trying to find ways out of my recent funk, and this was one of the most recent attempts. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshman season of Hazbin Hotel, particularly the outstanding musical numbers and how the whole season could, with just a few small modifications, be made into a Broadway style stage musical.

So I figured hell, why not do the same with Friendship is Magic?

    Our Last Anniversary

I've been radio silent on social media since my now ex-wife and I announced our split. A few days ago, I was moved to write this and post it on Facebook. Figured I might as well post it here as well.

    Folks say it's pretty good.

    State of the Author 2023

    It's bad.

    Real bad.

So it should come as no surprise that my wife and I are divorcing. We're having to take it slow because she's so close to the end of her degree and I want her to be in a good place to help take care of our boys. We're still co-habitating, still friends.

    New Story Incoming

It's taken years. Multiple plot revisions. The complete scrapping of "Silent Night." More false starts than I'm okay admitting. And, ultimately, it took the collapse of the life as I've known it to drive me into the mindspace necessary to find this lost child in the wilderness and finally bring her home.

I hope the wait has been worth it.

Happy Five Year Anniversary to Macintosh and Fluttershy Apple! · 10:31pm Nov 12th, 2017

Hard to believe these two lovebirds tied the knot here on FIMFiction back on November 12, 2012.

In celebration, enjoy two of my all-time favorite FlutterMac stories; 'Poets Hate Maidens' by Aragon and 'What's the Sound of Two Mimes Dating' by MidnightDancer.

Through invasions and maiming, through good times and bad, these two remain the stalwart romantic backbone of the Continuity. Happy anniversary, and here's to many more to come.

What are some of your favorite FlutterMac moments, Continuity or otherwise?

I just read your Morning Glory story.

Or rather, the Spike and Rarity one.

Sorry, it's just my favorite Spike ship. :|

I miss the time when FlutterMac could be a thing D:

It was really cute on it's time, but it lost all it's magic since they never did interact with each other besides the episode Filli Vanilli and even in that episode they didn't show any sort of chemistry. For me that was the point that I realized this ship as cute as might be, it's irrelevant and pretty much dead and Hard to Say Anything was the last nail in the coffin.

Wait, since when is Poets Hate Maidens about Fluttermac? Far as my hazy recollection serves, it's mostly some weird argument about what dreams really mean, and then it turns out Fluttershy wants Big Mac.

For me, it was when the show writers started shipping him with every mare who wasn't Fluttershy. D:

(Shrug) Really just an excuse to shill an Aragon story that features Mac and Fluttershy.

It is a Fluttermac! At least in my opinion. While Rarity and Applejack share the spotlight, the main conflict (and resolution) are all shipping-based, and star those two. It's just that my romances are not really romantic. One would think that's the one thing they oughta be, but whaddayaknow?

Anyway, Jade, happy... anniversary? to you too. Morning Glory was the first story of yours I read, and it remains one of my favorites. Cheers to that!

La-di-da. They have shipped Twilight with two different guys so far, too, and look how nobldy cares. I still like Fluttermac, even if Cheerimac is cuter. No idea about the new one; I still gotta watch that episode.

But still. La-di-da.

Eh, the first one's carrying a torch because she'll never come, and the second one's a different Twilight and also nothing romantic ever happened with her on screen
