A Blog Priest Doesn't Want to Write · 10:12pm Nov 9th, 2017

I've fought this stupid thing. This stupid thought. Ugh.

Let's start with good news. 550 words of Office Love's new chapter is written. And I plan to keep going until I'm done. I just wish it were under better circumstances.

I have a lot of strong feelings about what I'm going to talk about. I'm not proud or happy to be doing what I'm doing, but I have to.

Earlier this month I was waylaid with over 2 thousand dollars of expenses. Including health expenses, Home repairs, Yugo medical needs, and Debt repayment.

This said, I am NOT living uncomfortably. I have food, water, family, friends, a home. I have so many wonderful things and a solid income that lets me know things will be okay.

But. I'm opening a tip jar. TEMPORARILY. PURELY TEMPORARILY. yes. It uses "That site". That site I promised I'd never open a thing to. I know what I said. But, now that a life is somewhat on the line, I feel the need to do something. Desperate times, Desperate measures.etc

My dog is being put on a very expensive prescription for 4 months to try and repair his perianal tracts. He's an old dog and wouldn't survive surgery, so this is a sort of last 'chance' at getting his digestive system and lower back pain in order. I'm not doing to talk dollar amounts. that's not fair to you guys and i don't want to guilt people to donating to... well my thing.

Those who subscribe to 'my thing' have no incentive for doing so other than to support me personally. There are no story updates. No drafts. No special rewards. Nothing. Everyone is on the same footing. If I did ANYTHING special for patreons, I'd post my original writing to be perused. Nobody cares about that. they want poniponi and I understand.

I'm opening this thing to help offset the cost of the medication. I can't apologize for taking back my words. I just hope you understand.

Regardless of if people donate or not, I will hopefully have an OL chapter next week. Thank you for understanding.

I feel my integrity melting away and guiltier by the moment. Hell, maybe I'll tear this down before the end of the day.

If you just need money for money's sake, patreon is a bad way to do it, dude. They take 5% of whatever you get, plus paypal takes their cut when you transfer the money into your account. You can deposit it into your bank account through patreon for 25 cents, though, but still.

I really suggest cutting out the middle man and just giving out your paypal address to cut out the middle man.

Sorry to hear you're going through a bunch of shit, dude. I'm almost always on discord if you ever need someone to vent to!

420!

Perhaps offer photo of pupper in return? He is cute doggo.
Also, you can do this baby.

If it helps, you'll get no judgement from me, we all go through tough times now and then. Hope everything works out for you.

Welp. Time to finally make a paypal account.

Hope everything turns out well for you.

Don't feel bad about it. You're part of a community here, and members of communities are supposed to look out for each other, so there is no shame in asking for help, be it advice or financially. Good Luck and I hope everythign works out!

This same guilt saved my ass once bro. There's no shame in needing help.

Don't you dare feel bad for asking for help. It takes a lot more courage to do so and you are doing so for a very unselfish reason: to help a friend and part of your family.

I joined this fandom because of the genuine goodness of the folks that are a part of this group. I may be speaking out of turn, but I believe that any one of us could ask for assistance with anything at all and a hundred pones would answer, even if only to say they supported you.
Please, accept their support with the knowledge they care about you and want to share friendship with you.

It really is Magic, you know!

Sorry to hear you're going through such shit atm. Hope stuff turns around quick for ya.

My follower count is modust, but have a signal boost: https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/772279/signal-boost-charity-for-dying-dog

Best of luck, and I hope you stop feeling bad about asking for help helping another living creature. S'fine. That's what you're s'posed to do. Let other people decide whether to toss money at it or not; all you've done is make yourself a middleman for their generosity. Think of it that way.

If it's only temporary then Patreon is a poor choice and Paypal is the way to go. The VAT on patreon is 5% in the states, which is negligible, but in EU the VAT goes between 17-25% depending on country. That is way too much for a slightly larger one-time donation.

That's the problem though. His medical bills are going on for 4months... Hopefully not longer.

Due to my anti-patreon stance, I honestly know/knew nothing about the site. But, I figured on the whole it would bit.

Plus my PayPal has my real name and stuff, and I can't change it, sooo

Guess it's just me who never understood why everyone is so shy about their identity. I found out a guy I sometimes talked to on fimfic actually lived fairly close to me and we quickly became irl pals. I even managed to get help him get a summer job, so I don't see what the fuss is about.
