Update · 12:52am Oct 16th, 2012
Tried to write a short scene, completely in rhyme, today. I learned a few things.
Mainly, writing in nothing but rhyme is a royal pain in the ass flank (Don't expect to see this thing go public, by the way. It won't).
I've made some progress with WHR, and after the eighth rewrite I've decided to just stick with what I have now, for fear of it becoming as static and distant as the rest of the story has been, so far.
Chapter 6 won't be much longer now, but it's going to be another short one. I'm not going to stretch scenes to hit a certain word count, nor am I going to merge chapters. I'll tell the story as I imagine it, which is probably the best thing to do, anyway.
The reason for the slow update isn't just because I'm slow to write, though, as most of you will know by now. No, I've just been working on other things. Random shorts like Operetta, mostly, just to focus some more on story flow without creating more rewriting work for myself in WHR. The IRC still does its job at keeping me distracted, though, which only slows me down even further.
I also attended a LAN party with some friends, and my cat died during the last few hours of that weekend. I didn't (want to)/couldn't write for about four days as a result, but am back on track at at least 500/day (which is decent, in my book, considering the words I've deleted so far).
Just thought I'd post an update. Also, no music, this time. I don't see the point. Apologies for the somewhat pointless blog post, if it bothered you.
