First Blog! · 7:25am Nov 3rd, 2017
Hello everypony!
I am Yutah123, and I'm starting a blog thing to do when I feel like it. Basically, I will post a new blog when I feel like it, and only when I feel like. Also, I'm not a dedicated writer, so I may not write correctly (although I am a perfectionist, so I don't think you'll find much mistakes). So to sum it all up, I won't be writing regularly, and I won't be writing like a pro. That being said, let's get on with it.
Introduction
I live in Japan! I'm a big Harry Potter fan, mild Lord of the Rings fan, mild Star Wars fan, and know a bit about Stargate and Star Trek. Also, I like to watch reaction videos on Youtube and read lots of fanfiction, and I mean a lot. "How is this related to MLP?" you ask. That will be explained in the next part.
How I met MLP: FiM, and came to like it
Meeting MLP: FiM
I first came across My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic while reading crossover fan fiction involving Star Trek discovering new planets with various shows on it. What I mean by that is that the Federation — the government in Star Trek — finds various new planets where the events of real life shows are occurring. For example, in the fanfic, Jean-Luc of the USS Enterprise-D discovered a planet with sapient technicolor ponies. That's right, he just found Equestria (or Equus, as the planet is called). And that's how I met My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic And that's how Equestria was made! (Anyone get the reference?)
Having found out about talking ponies, I wanted to learn more, since I was confused by this... turn of events. And so I took to Google, researching about this mysterious princess called Celestia. So it came to be, that I learned more about My Little Pony. I wasn't interested in it much at first, and you couldn't blame me; after all, technicolor ponies aren't everyone's thing. Then, it happened, a discovery that would change my opinion, forever. I discovered the brony fandom.
Appreciating MLP: FiM
A whole site full of fanfiction which I haven't combed through yet? The horror! And so, after reading lots of fimfiction, I came to appreciate and like MLP, even watching a few episodes on Youtube myself. I haven't watched every episode, nor do I intend to, but I do intend to continue reading fimfiction, and appreciate all the good content that everypony here offers. (My most grateful thanks to all you authors out there!)
After I came to like MLP, I decided to search youtube for content related to it. And my, what a treasure trove of reaction videos and good episodes I found. A new source of fan fiction and reaction videos; wonderful! And so, I also came to like the video producing section of the brony community. To this day, one of the greatest animations — and songs — I've had the pleasure of watching is Lullaby for a Princess, arguably one of the greatest animations of the fandom, if not the best. The song it's based on is also great, portraying a regretful, guilty side of Princess Celestia that we don't get to see much of. It also demonstrated to me the dedication of the fandom, with the creators spending two and a half years working on said animation. I know I don't have the patience for that kind of thing.
And that's how I'm here. I may not be a full-on brony, but someone who likes technicolor ponies nonetheless.
Plans
I don't know what I'm going to do with any further blog posts, probably just introductions of stories I particularly like, and maybe some snippets of information about various things (like my life, or Harry Potter). But until then, have a good time.
