Good Evening,
Though I'm not one for blogs, I wanted to pass along some updates:
First, I visited the optometrist a few days ago for my first important post-op examination. She tested my vision and, drumroll please... 20/15! The surgeons obviously want the best results possible, and say most end up with 20/20 vision post-surgery. I'm estatic that my vision is that good. I must admit it's been weird, though. I still wake up many mornings and freak out that I can't find my glasses, until it dawns on me that I don't wear them anymore. And the other day I suddenly realized that I could see the whole world! Normally there would be black rims clearly delineating what is in focus and what's not. It's like I'm seeing the world with a whole new set of eyes.
As for writing, I'm still busy. I've been working on Untitled Drama mostly over the past couple of weeks. Today I passed 25,000 words and finished the most important chapter. I'm projecting, (I use the word with caution because my estimates for this story constantly need to be revised upwards), that the last two chapters will only be a total of 6,000 words, for a total somewhere above 30,000 total words. And seeing how they're relatively straight forward, I anticipate that writing them will be smoother. After all, this story has been an emotional roller coaster. Though it's been the most rewarding thing I've written, and it will be extremely bittersweet, I'm eagerly looking forward to wrapping it up and publishing it.
As for what comes next, I want to pick up work on my other stories that have be languishing since I've been committed to the drama. And, as promised, I will start the sequel to The Secret Life of... Scootaloo.
Oh, I almost forgot. I'm thinking of writing a short holiday-themed story, so be on the lookout for that!
Keep Writing,
Dreadnought
