    Hello again... and apologies....

    Hey everyone...

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything or continued with my story...

I do not offer this as an excuse, simply an explanation.

    I'm still here!

    Hey all

Just thought I'd give you a quick update since I haven't posted a new chapter in a while.

I am still working on Allegiances, I swear! I wouldn't just leave Dust and Co at this point in their tale.

My First Blog Post: Thanks, and an unfortunate delay

This is something new for me, so please bear with me on this. I never imagined one day that I would be addressing a group that enjoyed something I created. And forgive me for the length.

This is something new for me, so please bear with me on this. I never imagined one day that I would be addressing a group that enjoyed something I created. And forgive me for the length.

First of all, I want to say thanks to a whole bunch of people.

Let me start with the people who motivated me start this undertaking: the authors I read and the stories I thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, there's Kkat, without whom, none of this would be possible. And of course, I can not thank her enough for her generosity in letting all of us play in the sandbox. Then there's a whole litany of authors(in no particular order): Somber, Gamma Deekay, DigitalInk, hahatimeforponies, Noakwolf, Relentless, Fallingsnow, Stormcaller, FuzzyVeeVee, No One, mimizinga. Their stories showed me that what was an epic story in a very well created world could be expanded upon by others. I will list/link to their stories for anyone who has not read them yet at the bottom of this post.

Next are the people who have given so generously of their time and effort... my editors/prereaders/whatever title you wish to apply. First, there was Stanku who agreed, before I published anything, to look over my work. They helped a fledgling author gain enough confidence to put his work out there. I have never been one for being in the public eye, so this was a huge fear of mine. Stanku helped me clean up my work and get it ready for public view. Unfortunately, Stanku felt there wasn't much else to contribute so we parted ways amicably. Next, there was Setokaiva who was only with me for a short while. Again, they gave me confidence in my ability to write and to not be as fearful as I was. They got drawn away by a previous project that had come back to life.

And then there is Gamma Deekay. I can not say enough in gratitude of his time and effort. Just as I was about to give up since I couldn't find help, he helped me and got me to change my mind. Through a prologue and 23 chapters, he has been there through ups and downs, celebrations and doubts, questions (so many questions) and has been so helpful in crafting my story and getting it to where it is today. Not to mention the worries and doubts of a self-doubting author. So, huzzah to Gamma!

Let me finish with probably the most important people, you, my followers. Without you, there would be no need for the continuation of Dust's travels in the Wasteland. When I started writing this story two years ago now (holy cow, has it really been 2 years already!?!), I figured I would be able to get a few chapters out, have a little bit of fun and then have it peter out. I have seen, and read, many stories that have started and then either have gone on an indefinite hiatus or just get outright cancelled. I figured that was going to be the outcome of mine. But then something funny, to me at least, happened. People started liking my story. I had followers and every time a chapter was released, I had a lot of unique views. This meant so much to me and was one of the largest motivators to keep going.

Now, with all that being said, I do have a little bit of bad news. As you may have noticed, until recently, I've been releasing a chapter every month or so. Also, as you can see, Chapter 23 of Allegiances came out early in September. I had hit a small bit of writer's block and had periods of time I would just stare at the screen and nothing would come out. And then life got in the way, limiting the time I had for writing. So now it's been almost two months. But, fortunately, I've been more productive lately and will have more time for writing soon. So, please bear with me... Allegiances is not dead... it will be back.

Thank you.

FP
