    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Nightmare Night Costumes · 3:51am Oct 14th, 2017

Hey, I can't go through October without dressing up my OCs (and Cheese Sandwich). :rainbowwild:

It's not obvious at first glance, but Tomato is the ponified version of the infamous Edward Hyde of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde fame. I got the idea from how he gets when he drinks something caffeinated (which would make him look more evil than he does here, but we don't want to risk it).

I dressed Cheese up in this costume simply because I wanted to dress Boneless 2 as a parrot.

And grouped together are the rest. I usually prefer to do them individually, but I wanted to get them all done in one sitting. Anyway...

Flora is a Breezie. I figured that she'd find them adorable and interesting, hence her costume.

Bluejinx the Sphinx, because he'd find old legends interesting and think that the Sphinx is cool.

Cirrus as the Snow Queen (not sure what else to call ponified Elsa) as a reference to how I imagine Cirrus' singing voice sounding.

And Nimbus as Santa Hooves because I thought it was funny.

As for myself? I'm not sure how to translate it to my ponysona, so I haven't drawn it, but my costume this year is an elf. My sister found it incredibly ironic, because I pretty much hate anything related to Christmas popping up before Thanksgiving (only thing I can tolerate is a sister practicing an instrument for a Christmas concert). Sometimes my family pushes that button for a cheap laugh.

But, since I had elf ears on hand (werewolf costume a few years ago), I thought I could go for the elf costume. Plus, it'd be fun to be silly and tell trick-or-treaters, "Merry Christmas!" I know the little ones will laugh and correct me.

In other news, I saw The My Little Pony Movie on Monday. While the story's a little weak and the pacing's wonky, it made up for it by being a lot of fun through most of the characters, all of the songs, and great moments of both comedy and drama. Not gonna lie, I bought the soundtrack the day after, and I can't stop listening (save for a few annoying pop songs I deleted, so I got 8 out of 13 now). I especially like Capper's song (the cat is now my favorite non-pony character) and Tempest's song.

And surprisingly, even though I normally find Sia annoying, I actually really like "Rainbow".

All in all, I enjoyed the movie. Plus, I was really happy for that Cheese Sandwich cameo. :pinkiehappy:

Okay, see you later!
