I do put in some work on the 'verse's TVTropes pages now and again. There's still a lot to be done, because there always is: any number of Recaps could use some serious help, and I have trouble doing anything on the subjective pages (the crowning moments of Awesome, Funny, Heartwarming, Nightmare Fuel, and Tearjerkers) because I'm too close to the material. Similarly, I can't do much on the Wild Mass Guessing page beyond starting a discussion.
(Side note: the one thing I'm semi-shocked isn't on the WMG page? People starting their guesses on how Cadance ascended.)
But progress has been made. There are now three Character pages: canon, OCs, and spoilers. The Quotes page occupies space (and that's about it), while YMMV is for bashing me and Fridge gets everything else. Plus I seem to have picked up my Very Own Moderator. (Hi, Ferot_Dreadnaught!)
But why am I posting about this today? Because we're closing in on not one, but two Big. Round. Numbers.
The first of those is Offsite Visitors. Keeping in mind that signing in from different devices is almost guaranteed to count as false unique hits and so the actual count is a lot lower, the main page currently has this on the Related tab.

Think about that. It's almost 10k on the counter. Probably a lot closer to 3k in the actual numbers, but still... on the counter, that's not bad. It's some curious people checking in. It's also probably more than a few hitting the Random Media button and running away in a hurry, but... twenty more people, or whatever the site will count as such, and the counter goes to 10k. Not bad for low-popularity fanfic.
But that's just one number. Here's the other, from the same page:

Not just trope pages, but mentions in other media (fanfic), plus little notes on things which need to be done: workspace pages. I've placed some of those mentions. Others have been done by Those Other Than Me. And it's the count I watch very closely, because every single time that number goes up without my having created an edit, it means someone thought the 'verse was worth citing as an example. It can feel like a small honor, and there's only three more instances to go before reaching the century mark.
Well -- that second number was recently at 96. It just ticked over to 97. And so I read down the list, curious and mildly excited to see what someone had thought deserved to be posted for Unknown Quantity to see.

Hmm. I'd never really thought about Cadence's ascension in this setting. I don't recall any hints on the matter—though that may be on my end—and I like to have some kind of solid foundation for my flights of fancy. Plus, Twilight has asked about it in Triptych, so the answer is presumably en route.
Though, thinking about it, I'm making assumptions about what event demarcates Before and After for the royal sisters. Possibly correct assumptions, but assumptions still...

A quick Internet search turns up that Cadence's back story is mostly in Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell. The comics don't have much & the show only mentions that Cadence was Twilight's foal sitter.
There is the implication that Shining Armor met Cadence while she was foal sitting Twilight + the likelihood that Celestia knew of this & acquiesced if not arranged it.
The Internet says that comics don't have much & that Hasbro says that she was vaguely related to the Crystal Empire's old royal family. Otherwise, as far as I can see it's pretty much a blank slate before her babysitting days. Oh, & at Flurryheart's birth Celestia & Luna are surprised that Flurryheart was born an Alicorn.
If you take that as canon to your AU, of course that means Cadence must have ascended somehow.

You know, since we learned that Cadance used to be a pegasus, it hadn't really crossed my mind how she ascended. It's easy to fill in the blanks with established canon lore until we get the real dirt on how it went down in the Continuum specifically. I'm interested in knowing about that, but what really holds my attention is the timing of it. She's older than she should be going by how she looks, plus both princesses tried to get her not to marry Shining Armor, probably because she's already proven to be immortal.

The typo is with "FanFic". The site is progressively moving to "Fanfic" as the canonical spelling, in preparation for an upgrade, from my understanding.
And such changes need a whole delete and recreation of the page, so... expect that to happen at some point... It should only be down for less than a day.

I always got the impression that Cady's ascension was something of a state secret. I like the idea that, recalling how traumatic their own experience was, Celestia refuses to talk about it, and Luna has very pointedly Not Asked, not wanting to bring back more painful memories.
Also, ironically, to avoid inspiring what is already happening in Triptych by letting the general public find out about ascension.
Then again, I really love (cruel as it sounds) the way Estee's diarchy show subtle and not so subtle PTSD.
I hope I don't come across as accusing/offensive, but I think your opinions on 'low popularity fanfic' are very warped. A fanfic verse where the author regularly gets featured, gets a slew on comments on all of their fics, has a very big TV Tropes page where others regularly add tropes, who gets recced on TV Tropes and other pages, who has a Patreon where people actually pay for their work... that's in NO WAY someone I'd describe as 'low popularity'. Quite the contrary. There are authors who would hack off their writing hand to get that far.
