To Perytonia: Even more art? · 4:28pm Oct 8th, 2017
This is a post partially concerned with To Perytonia, a fully written ongoing adventure story updating every Tuesday and Saturday. This post contains no spoilers.
We're thirteen chapters in, and I think I think it's safe to say the story is hitting its stride. We're no longer "just getting started". We've slowly moved into the thick of the story.
While I think the pacing of chapter releases is working out fairly well, I must admit that I selfishly wonder what people will say in the coming weeks, in a month or even in two months from now.
I have nothing else to say at this moment. I just wanted to share some art, a little sketchier and more rough this time.
Here is the art.
This has been the art.
Hi
I like the slight out of frame on the hind leg, it adds to the sense of power.
Yay the art!
Nice. Definitely looking more ferocious than most of your peryton art.
4691291 Hi!
4691438 It was an accident, sort of, but I like it too! Now I'm annoyed that I didn't go full on with it. The shadow cutting off like that is a lil' annoying.
4691552 Yay indeed! This one was very rough, but I decided to clean it up to postpone showing the more colourful one in the forest, 'cause I'm starting to see flaws with it that I wonder if I can fix. (Probs not).
4691649 So. Many.
Not too long ago, I said that we were barely halfway to halfway. So, let's say it's more than twenty-five, less than forty, and that leaves a pleasant amount of wiggle room and ambiguity!
4692197 I really like scary monsters, and while peryton don't have a terribly frightening disposition, it was nice to get to draw something that showed off their teeth and talons for change. Whether we'll ever get to see an angry peryton in the story, that's a mystery!
4693632 Perhaps. Thirty is in that field. But yeah, like said, it's very long. That's why I'm doing these staggered chapter releases; I suspect the full story will be daunting to a lot more people than it will be attractive
4693652 Nope! Far, far more than that. My thinking is just that if you know how long it is, you'll think "oh, that means the climax probably happens around here", or something dangerous will happen and you'll think "this can't be a big deal, we're barely halfway" or whatever.
If you don't think it's a spoiler, and if you really want a closer/more accurate estimate on the final word count, you can PM me and I'll tell you. It's not a secret, I just don't want to say it out loud here, that's all!

Everybody likes monsters.
At least everybody with taste.
