Half expecting this episode to be funny, half expecting a repeat of "Fame and Misfortune." Which wasn't really a bad thing, as it gave certain portions of the fandom a much needed calling out, but still...

That sounds awesome

I'm wondering if this is the writers' response to the conventions -- you know, where bronies pay for the privilege to spend time with the voices behind the characters.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Damn, Spike has Twilight down to a science.

We had a 50-50 chance on Spike or Starlight running things while Twilight took a vacation. Spike wins the flip. Now taking bets on whether Ponyville burns down as a result.

4689805
Who says I was? We need our arrogance curbed a little from time to time. A Gibbs Slap if you will.

"When someone offers you a paid vacation, you don't ask any questions!"

Bad moral, guys. Bad moral. . . .

Where's Spike?

nice episodes, really needed something to clease my palette after the awful SJW propaganda that was marketed as a movie for some reason

4689809
That's actually kind of adorable when you think about it!

IRON WILL! You may call IRON WILL IRON WILL!

4689814
I heard that and immediately said, "Scam alert! Scam alert!"

The fact that I didn't catch that it was IW at the first announcement makes me rather ashamed of myself, though. :facehoof:

*sees it's a solo Twilight episode

4689802
are fucking kidding me it didn't "call us out" it insulted us and disregarded any legitimate criticism of we have and basically told us that wanting something we love to improve is somehow a bad thing

So..... apparently Twilight gets her OCD from her dad and her mom is the more adventurous type...

4689816
Hey, the movie was awesome!

4689829
Well, headcanon confirmed on the Dad being the OCD one part.

4689828
Yeesh, don't let the door hit you on the way out man. Just a show, sit back and relax.

Star Tracker is apparently part Pinkie Pie and part stalker... :rainbowderp:
Or are they the same thing...?

4689838
You're thinking of Pinkamena.

4689840
Eyyup. That sounds right.

It's getting harder and harder to tell the episode synopses from the fanfic blurbs.

4689838
He's 10 different restraining orders waiting to happen.

Even with his stalker tendencies, how did Star Tracker not get Twilight to the Northern Stars in time? It's practically his name for Celestia's sake!

Oh, right. Plot reasons. :ajbemused:

4689845
Or... Well, a specific type of Brony anyways. I can name a few others whom I sadly know, but I'll take the high road and skip that.

4689830
riiiiight, a movie pandering to the same people that consider Hilary Clinton a role model is awesome, yeah

4689856
Did you even watch the MLP movie??

"Let's do something off the schedule."

"...Who are you?"

You said it, buddy.

This episode was actually pretty good, for what it was worth.

4689852
Dear God you could cut diamonds with those abs!

4689854
Pfft, those people are the reason the phrase unpleasible fandom exists....

4689864
Agreed it was an okay episode, but one question is bothering me at the end....

WHO THE HELL WAS DRIVING THE SHIP AT THE END!?

It was pretty good I wish Iron Will was not the bad guy I like him.

But maybe he doing it because he was being honest but he got him nowhere.

4689845
Should I get the shiny keys now, or do you just want to skip to the part were you declare everyone who doesn't like the episode a heretic?

This premise doesn't sound that great. It seems like one of those that can clear up the misunderstanding by simply talking. I see this going the same way Newbie Dash did.

4689872
I don't see Iron Will as evil, just more of a scammer. Like flim-and-flam, only slightly less malicious...

I'm more surprised they brought him back at all.

Nice little episode. Twilight apparently gets her obsession with organization and order from her father and her mother's more adventurous additude shows through in Twilight as well.

Nice seeing Iron Will again. Can't really fault him completely--his agreement did spell out in writing what was involved, he did renegotiate the contract, and if Twilight had done her tasks faster she would have made it to see the northern stars as Iron Will did end the list of tasks with a legitimate chance of making it to do what she wanted. He had no real reason to make her upset with him as her good will gives him profits.

4689826
Solo Twilight Sparkle episode?

4689889
Knowing him, there was probably a lot of loopholes in that contract... that and the fact that he immediately left screaming no refunds doesn't exactly paint him in a positive light.

4689845
I wouldn't be complaining if I didn't care.

I like this episode.

Man, this episode was jam-packed with character-building details. Twi-Mom is a daredevil. Twi-Dad is the one with OCD. Shining Armour's weakness is flying. Flurry Heart views fellow ponies as her playthings (just wait till she starts throwing them around like javelins).

And apparently, Equestria is exactly as big or small as the plot demands. :twilightoops:

As for Iron Will, he's got plenty of style to spare, but I liked him better when he was more of a misguided entrepreneur than the predatory schemer this episode makes him out to be. We already have the Flim Flam brothers for things like that. Still, he's a cool character to keep bringing back.

Poor Twilight. :fluttercry:

4689872 4689912 4689899
Actually, as far as we can tell Iron Will was upfront and honest about his intentions all along. He even gave his plans for the voyage, in writing no less, to Twilight's parents before the cruise even set off. It's all on her parents for not reading the contract before signing it. And when it all came to light and they didn't want to go through with it, Iron Will was perfectly willing to cancel the whole cruise. At that point it became Twilight's fault for agreeing without setting more boundaries or trying to plan her "appearances" in advance.

In short, Iron Will was definitely not the villain here. He's aggressive, sure, but what can you expect from a creature that's half bull?

4689908
And yet you judged the episode for being a solo Twilight episode right off the bat.

It's really telling when fans like you who believe that everything after season 3 is objectively horrible can't bother to remember a lesson from Zecora's debute episode back in season 1 and apply it to the series.

Tsk tsk tsk, how shameful....

4689910
Did it have one of those misunderstandings that can be cleared up in 5s like Newbie Dash did? I find those episodes annoying.

4689815
Spike chose to stay behind and take care of friendship business while Twilight goes on vacation because he think she need to relax.

And also headcannon confirm, Spike is part of Twilight's family.

That awkward moment when the parachute doesn't open...
