Some Of My Favorite Foods and Drinks

Here are some of my favorite foods and drinks in no specific order.

1. Potatoes in any form. They can be boiled, stuffed, put in a soup, turned into potato chips; whatever form a potato takes it will be my favorite dish.

2. Any food from India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, The Philippines, and other parts of Asia. I am a big fan of Asian food from all parts of the world.

3. Greek food. My grandmother who recently passed away was Greek. I grew up eating Greek food so it is one of my favorite types of food out there.

4. Norwegian food, My family is also Norwegian (on my grandfather's side) so I also grew up eating Norwegian dishes.

5. I enjoy eating pizza and other Italian dishes. My favorite pizza is a stuffed crust pizza with alfredo sauce as the sauce, pepper jack cheese as the cheese, and barbecue chicken, artichoke hearts, and banana peppers as the topping.

6. British (and UK) desserts. I am half-British and I have to say that British desserts and desserts from the UK in general are some of the best desserts I have ever had.

7. Italian desserts. I especially like gelato (Italian ice cream), Italian ice, and tiramisu.

8. Party food such as pinwheel sandwiches and fondue. These are supposed to be snacks for parties but I eat them at home as well.

9. Sorbet and frozen yogurt. I tend to like sorbet and frozen yogurt a little better than I like regular ice cream. Probably because I am a huge fan of fruity flavors and sorbet and frozen yogurt both tend to have the best flavors when it comes to that.

10. Gyros (Greek sub sandwiches). They basically consist of a bunch of meat, vegetables, and other ingredients stuffed in a pita with oils, seasonings, and sauces. They are better than regular sandwiches of that type (in my opinion).

11. Turkish desserts such as baklava and Turkish delights.

12. Chocolate covered....anything. Seriously. If it is covered in chocolate, I will eat it. But I especially like chocolate covered strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, oranges, bananas, apples, and other fruits.

13. Hummus. I came from a Greek family so yeah...I put hummus on EVERYTHING. Hummus is basically this dip made by the Gods and handed to mortals to eat to know what it is like to be on Mount Olympus. If you don't know what hummus is; seriously, buy some right now. Don't come back until you've eaten some. <_<

14. Italian soda. Italians have the art of making soda down. I would prefer to drink an Italian soda to any other kind of soda. They are that good.

15. French dishes. I came to eat French dishes when I was taking French as a language from elementary school all the way through university. My various classes would often go to French restaurants as part of the language curriculum. One of my favorite French dishes is crepes. I make them for breakfast a lot.

16. Seafood. It can be any kind of seafood, really. But I especially like lobster, crab, and shrimp.

17. Sushi and rice balls. I actually make my own homemade sushi and rice balls. The trickiest part is the rice (I don't have a rice cooker) but I actually found a way to bake the rice in the oven so it comes out just as good as if you used a rice cooker.

18. Both hot and cold tea. I like any kind of cold or hot tea, That is probably the British in me. :P

19. Cappuccinos, espressos, iced coffee, and other iced coffee drinks like frappuccinos. I make the iced coffee type of drinks at home a lot.

20. Any dessert that has chocolate like brownies, cookies, macarons...if it has chocolate in it, I will eat it.

21. Mexican food. I am a HUGE fan of Mexican dishes, especially the more authentic stuff. But I make a lot of the more 'Americanized' versions of Mexican food at home like chimichangas, burritos, tamales, enchiladas, cheesy tortillas, nachos, salsa, guacamole, and so on.

22. Artisan sandwiches and giant burgers. Artisan sandwiches are a better version of the run of the mill sandwich you take in your lunch. Giros are still better (in my opinion) but artisan sandwiches are good in their own right. Giant burgers are self-explanatory. Don't give me a wimpy kid's meal burger. I want a huge slab of mean, mm'kay?

23. Salads. I like salads quite a lot, especially salads that have tons of toppings (like a chef's salad or artisan salad).

24. Fruity drinks. It can be any kind of fruity drink really such as juices, sodas, or even flavored water.

25. Any kind of dip that you can put a chip or cracker in such as cheese dip, bean dip, hummus (the best dip), onion dip, or other kinds of dips.

25. Chips and crackers. As I mentioned, I enjoy dipping them in various dips. This probably comes from my Greek upbringing. Greek dishes have lots of dips.

26. Pita chips. Pita chips are like regular chips; but better. They are Greek too. And they go very well with hummus; the best dip ever created.

27. Asian sauces like teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, and so on. There is just something awesome about Asian sauces. I have no idea what they put in them. But they are good. I use them when I cook quite a lot.

28. Condiments like ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, salad dressing, and so on. I am a big sauce and condiment person. This, again, probably comes from my Greek upbringing.

29. Clam chowder, potato soup, chicken and dumplings, and other specialty soups. I tend to like creamy soups, which is why I am a big fan of clam chowder, potato soup, chicken and dumplings, and other soups similar to them.

30. Steak and ribs. These are probably two of my favorite types of meat because they have a lot of flavor. And they go well with sauces, something else I enjoy.

31. Stuffed peppers, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed potatoes, and other stuffed vegetables. Stuffed vegetables are some of the best things ever invented. I am not sure who invented them but I owe that person a year worth of hugs. Or something.

32. Deviled eggs, stuffed meats, and other stuffed dishes. I basically like any food that is stuffed with, well, other food. It tends to take up the level of any meal a few notches. I have some good recipes for stuffed dishes as well.

There are probably some other foods I am forgetting but that is what I could think of off the top of my head.

What are some of your favorite foods? I am curious to know.

Oh and one quick side note: I am allergic to both caffeine and chocolate, but I eat tings that contain them anyway because I have no common sense. Also, no allergy is going to tell me what I can and can;t eat. My allergies are not the boss of me. <_<

Interesting. Also, I'm sorry about your grandmother.

4681691 It is okay. My grandmother lived a full life. She is at peace now.

Sooo many things. Mouth watering.

I really could go for some baklava. Also tulumbe, hadn't had one of those in years. And I have some really lively gyros place just around corner which I visit from time to time. and speaking of greek food ever had musaka/moussaka? Though from what I understand Greeks don't make it with potatoes like we do and I am sure you would agree with me that it's better with potatoes.

That's good, but it still hurts. I should know. So, I'll give you this: (hugs)

4681703 I like moussaka a lot! My grandmother made it with just eggplants (I believe that is the traditional way of making it). But I have seen it made with potatoes as well.

4681706 Aww thank you. That means a lot. Especially since my grandfather, grandma Dorothy (on my step dad's side) and Uncle Randy have recently passed away as well. :(

4681707
My mother makes it only with potatoes since that's how traditionally it is made here. Was surprised to learn about eggplant version.

4681715 That's interesting. My grandmother only ever made it with eggplants. And I have seen version of the dish with both eggplants and potatoes.

4681716
Guess because in Serbia we love potatoes much more.

Mmmmm fresh out of the oven.

4681720 I love potatoes too. XD I basically love any dish with a potato in it.

4681724
Hard to miss, it's number one thing on the list. And why wouldn't it be? Potatoes are awesome. Best thing that came from the across the sea.
