Simcopter, but no Streets of Simcity? I am disappoint. Now excuse me while I go slap a DeLorean skin on the sports car and go hovering around the city of chunky graphics at 88MPH.
I recognise a fair number of those games by genre, a few by name, but of them all, only One did I ever play at home, because I didnt have a PC. I had the home computer that at its peak, had more games listed for it, than all the other platforms put together.
I played Lemmings.
Last year, I finally managed to get a go on an origional Virtuality rig from the 90s. Before the guys waiting for Oculus came back.
It aint the graphics, its the response, fluidity, and gameplay that count. Otherwise Pong would never have even worked.
Todays graphics card have up to a thousand times the resources, Per Pixel, at 4KHDR3D/120, than the 80s computers. They should be perfectly smooth, instant reponse etc. And theyre just going to get thousands of times more capable, because you can only push physiology so much to respond to image quality.
Next theyre going to find out that all their mega AI routines can be replaced by a gnome on a bicycle reading a book to get a better result. So whats all the rest of that power going on? Busy wait and advertising?
Find the games you like, play the games you like, ignore me cos Im totally useless at anything thats not turn based RPG and pretty ropy at those.
Im the guy who likes to take a BOLO to a Gordian Knot competition.
Okay, I seriously gotta know what game is the one with the rebel standing outside of an escape pod. I believe I used to play that one so much as a kid and now I kinda wanna play it again, but I can't find any game that matches the description I'm looking for. Any help?

That’s a good list and all (Perfect Dark wee), but you didn’t even include SimCity 4.

Well, we can rest assured that you have good taste in games.
Is it sad that I only recognized Super Mario Bros. and it's two sequels? Of course, I only just graduated high school, sooo...

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'd forgotten this thing until I saw that picture. I used to play that game so much as a kid. Looks like it's in a free online archive of MS-DOS games, too… I guess it's time for a nostalgia trip. Thanks for reminding me it existed.
Definitely started with a TI 99/4A I see.
Yay! Someone acknowledged TimeSplitters!
oh Scorched Earth, how I've missed you in my life.
Also, I'm surprised there aren't any of the Final Fantasy I-VI games
is it sad that i had more fun with those graphically limited games than do with modern ones?

(I like that the second one doesn't have the name in the URL, as it's pretty obscure. Who can recognize it?)

No, that's normal. That statement is true for any sane person.
Hey, I've played
someseveral of those games!4673505
Scorched Earth
I paid for that one back in the day! Sent my money to the author and everything...
Actually, they haven't let it die. It was remade in 3D over here -> http://www.scorched3d.co.uk/
It's still stupidfun blowing up everyone with bigger and bigger weapons. Free download for Windows and Linux.
Lists, huh?
I can do those! My five most favorite games ever:
5. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
4. Left 4 Dead 2
3. Pokémon Red/Blue
2. Final Fantasy VI
1. Fallout: New Vegas
Honorary Mention: Golden Sun, DOOM 2016, FFI (GBA DoS version), and FFXII because I don't want Final Fantasy to hog three of five spots.
