A while ago, I came up with plans for a Kingdom Hearts crossover story, but I never got around to writing it and probably never will, so I'll just post what I came up with here, and if anyone wants to use it, go right ahead.

Kingdom Hearts

Master Xehanort’s plan was for Sora to become his thirteenth vessel and then have his younger self return to his original timeline, but because he was interrupted by something even he could not foresee, he needed his younger self to stick around for longer than he originally planned. Young Xehanort also starts to wonder if he ever had a choice in his life at all. However, being temporally displaced for so long has caused Young Xehanort to disappear. He reappears in Canterlot High, with no memories at all. He wakes up, having no idea where he is, who he is, or what’s going on. Seeing the building that he woke up next to, he decides to check it out. While he’s wandering around the school, Sunset Shimmer is hurrying to class, saying that she can’t be late for maths. When she turns the corner, she bumps into Xehanort and falls down. She apologises, saying that she’s in a rush, but Xehanort says that it’s fine, and helps her up. She doesn’t recognise him and asks if he’s a new student. He tells her that he’s not sure, and that he can’t remember anything. Sunset recognises this as amnesia and asks him if he at least remembers his name. He then thinks hard and tells her that his name is Xehanort. Sunset then decides to take him to see Principal Celestia, to try and help him, even though she’s running late for class. When they reach her office, they knock on the door and Celestia tells them to come in. When Celestia sees Sunset, she playfully asks if she got in trouble for being late, but Sunset just tells her that she found a guy who can’t remember anything. Celestia notes that he doesn’t look familiar, but says that she will help him. She decides to help him, and says that for now, he should go to class with Sunset, and gives him the same timetable as her. As the two of them are leaving, Celestia calls Sunset back and gives a note explaining why she’s late. The two of them then go to maths class, taught by Cranky. When he sees Sunset enter the classroom, he notes that she’s late again, but Sunset defends herself, saying that she has a note from the principal this time. Taking the note, Cranky reads it and understands that it’s from Celestia. He then also notices that they have a new student, and Sunset introduces Xehanort, and that he’ll be here for a while. Cranky then tells him that there’s a spare seat at the back, next to Pinkie, and to take off his coat and sit down. Xehanort takes off his coat, feeling a bit strange doing it. He then awkwardly makes his way to his seat, while everyone stares at him. When he sits down, Pinkie, who’s sitting next to him, very excitedly asks to know more about him, but Cranky quickly tells her to be quiet. He then moves to get back to the lesson, when Pinkie raises her hand again, asking if she can give Xehanort a pen and paper for his work. Xehanort is thankful for this, and then class resumes normally. After Cranky writes up a math problem, he asks if anyone in the class can figure it out. No one raises their hand, and as Cranky surveys the room, he notices Rainbow Dash sinking into her chair, trying not to be noticed. He simply replies, “Keep sliding, Rainbow Dash. I can still see you.” Seeing no one else with the answer, Xehanort raises his hand. Cranky then gestures for him to approach the board, but Xehanort simply gives him the answer. Cranky is surprised by this and walks over to his seat to check his work, but Xehanort just says that he worked it out in his head. This amazes everyone, and Rainbow Dash calls him a math geek. Then the bell rings and everyone goes to lunch, and Cranky tells them to finish the questions for homework. When class is over, Xehanort goes to give Pinkie her pen and paper back, but she just tells him to keep them. As they’re leaving, Xehanort grabs his coat and puts it back on, saying that it feels right, and then leaves with Sunset, Rainbow, and Pinkie. As the four of them are leaving, a shadow heartless appears in the corner, unseen, observing Xehanort. When they reach the cafeteria, Sunset takes Xehanort to get their lunches, and Pinkie and Rainbow Dash meet the others at their table. When Sunset and Xehanort get to the table, Sunset introduces him to everyone. She also mentions that he can’t remember anything. They then hear a scream coming from the cafeteria kitchen, but Granny Smith quickly tells them that it’s nothing. One of the lunch ladies says that she saw a rat, but Granny Smith just says that no, they didn’t; that she’s run this cafeteria for years, without a single health hazard and that’s not going to change. She then hits the heartless with a frying pan and it disappears. When she sees it completely gone, she’s confused, saying she swore that she hit it. She then just casually brushes it off and resumes her work. The rest of the day proceeds normally. As they’re leaving for the day, heartless start showing up in the school, making everyone scared. When someone asks what they are, Xehanort, after staring at them for a moment, says that they’re heartless and describes what they are, but afterwards, has no idea how he knows it. The No Name Keyblade suddenly appears in his hand. Everyone, including Xehanort is confused by this, and Sunset wonders if it’s magic. After his Keyblade appears, all of the heartless start homing in on it. Turning back towards the heartless, Xehanort swings his Keyblade, destroying it. He then looks at the Keyblade for a moment and names it as well. He then proceeds to take out the rest of them. After they’re all defeated, his Keyblade suddenly disappears again. The girls ask him what just happened, but he tells them that he honestly doesn’t know either. Sunset has her own suspicions and decides to walk Xehanort back to her home. When they’re on their own, she decides to say some keywords to him, to see if he remembers anything, like when he saw the heartless. She says, ‘Equestria’ and ‘Celestia’ but nothing seems to come to mind. She then says ‘magic’ and that seems to get something out of him. She is still confused about what’s going on, but she at least knows that he’s not from Equestria, though that just raises more questions. When they get back to her apartment, she tells him that he can stay with her until he can remember who he is. Meanwhile, at The Castle That Never Was, Master Xehanort has found where his younger self is and sends one of the Organization members to get him. The next day, they arrive at school again and they go to classes like always. Xehanort asks the teachers if he can keep his coat on, and they let him. At lunch time, Xehanort goes out to the soccer field behind the school instead, and the girls follow after him. Rainbow Dash asks him if he’s been able to summon that weird sword again, but he tells her that he hasn’t. He then holds out his hand and wonders aloud if it’s in the flick of the wrist; when he does, the Keyblade suddenly appears again. They ask him what it is, and after staring at it for a moment, he calls it a Keyblade, but again says that he doesn’t know how he knows it. Rainbow Dash asks if she can hold it, but when he gives it to her, it immediately vanishes from her hand and returns to Xehanort. While everyone is confused at this, Applejack jokingly says that maybe it doesn’t like her. This causes Rainbow to say that the Keyblade must obviously be enchanted against awesomeness. Pinkie then says, “Ohhhh. My theory was that it can only be wielded by people who are worthy.” Xehanort then suddenly receives more information about it, and he points out the keychain, telling them that a Keyblade can change its appearance depending on the keychain. He then slowly reaches for it, but before he can, Sunset Shimmer is suddenly attacked and knocked down. After Xehanort notices the attack, he suddenly concentrates hard and he somehow rewinds time. Things then start replaying as they did a few seconds ago, but after he quickly figures out that time has rewound, he tells Sunset to get down, just in time to block the attack. Turning around to see who it is, he sees a cloaked figure appear on top of the school and then jump down to meet them. Noticing that he wears the same cloak as him, Xehanort asks him who he is. After briefly acting hurt that he doesn’t recognise him, the cloaked figure pulls back his hood, revealing himself to be Xigbar. However, Xehanort still doesn’t recognise him, feeling nothing at all when he looks at him. Xigbar just tells him to stop kidding around and come with him, but Xehanort simply tells him that he won’t. When Xigbar won’t give up, Sunset just tells him that he’s not going anywhere with him. At this, Xigbar just shoots at her with his arrow guns, but Xehanort blocks the attack before it connects. Confused at what’s going on, Xigbar just decides to fight him and drag him back. The two of them start fighting, during which Xigbar asks him why he’s doing this, but Xehanort just says that he has no idea what he’s talking about. Eventually, Sunset and the others decide to help him and start attacking Xigbar as well. This makes Xigbar annoyed, and summons a bunch of heartless to keep them occupied, and eventually, he uses a Stopza spell, which freezes everyone except for him and Xehanort. Xigbar then says that he wished that spell worked on him. He then asks Xehanort what exactly is plan is, now that the girls can’t hear him; however, Xehanort just says that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Not understanding what’s going on, Xigbar decides to leave through a corridor of darkness. Xehanort runs up to him as he’s leaving, but by the time he reaches him, he’s gone. Xehanort tries to figure out what just happened, but then time suddenly resumes and Rainbow Dash ends up punching him, because he’s where Xigbar was. They still don’t know what’s going on, but when the bell rings, they all head back to class, upset that they didn’t get any lunch. Xigbar reports back to Master Xehanort and tells him what happened, and that his younger self seems to have lost his memory. This confuses Master Xehanort as well, and he wonders what could have caused this. Xigbar then asks if they’ll have to destroy him, but Master Xehanort spells out for him that that must not happen, and that if anything happens to his past self before he can return to his original time, then they’re entire timeline will disappear. Master Xehanort then comes up with another plan. He calls in another cloaked figure and tells him to go and retrieve his younger self. After both the mysterious figure and Xigbar leave, Master Xehanort starts thinking to himself about what’s going on, and wonders why, if this is how things turned out before, he doesn’t at least have an imprint on his heart about it, like he did about his other plans. Back at Canterlot High, Young Xehanort is sitting in class, wondering about everything, wondering if he really is connected to Xigbar, and if he’s a bad guy, after seeing him attack his friends and command the heartless. While he’s thinking to himself, Pinkie starts talking to Sunset about setting up a welcome party for Xehanort later, after school. When the next break comes, everyone heads to the cafeteria to get something to eat. When school ends, everyone heads to a club, where Pinkie has set up a party for Xehanort. During the party, another cloaked figure appears in the room, making everyone else scatter. As soon as he does, without saying anything, he immediately summons Master Xehanort’s Keyblade. After seeing the cloaked figure, Xehanort moves to summon his Keyblade as well, but instead, he summons two duel blades. He shakes it off quickly when the cloaked figure charges at him. The two of them fight briefly, and Xehanort notices a familiar feeling. Noticing this as well, the cloaked figure then pulls back his hood, revealing himself to be Terra. When the group asks him who he is, he responds by telling them that he’s Xehanort. The others ask him what he means by this, and Terra tells them that he and Xehanort are the same person, and that they have the same heart. Xehanort angrily denies that he’s like him and continues with the battle. As the battle continues, Xehanort’s rage builds and he starts subconsciously using the darkness to attack, which gives him the upper hand. He then throws both of his blades at Terra, which he manages to block, but Xehanort then quickly summons his Keyblade and strikes at Terra when he’s open. Terra then quickly opens up a corridor of darkness and leaves. After the battle is over, Xehanort is still freaking out over the implication that he really is bad. While the others reassure him that he’s not, he then looks at his Keyblade and realises that there is a way to prove it. He then slowly reaches for his keychain, and when he takes it off, it transforms into Master Xehanort’s Keyblade, that Terra had been using. Xehanort reacts in shock to this and begins panicking at the realisation. The sight of the Keyblade in his hands begins triggering more of his memories, and he screams out in pain and he loses consciousness.

Xehanort angrily asks why he would ever want to be like him, to which his future self calmly responds, knowledge, saying that when he first woke up and couldn’t remember anything, his first instinct was learn anything he could; and that his search for knowledge is ingrained into him and he will always do whatever is necessary to find it. Master Xehanort then stabs his younger self with his Keyblade. Sunset runs to catch him, asking him if he’s alright, and he calmly responds that he feels great because he has regained his memories. He then summons his (Master Xehanort’s) Keyblade and stabs her with it. He starts talking about how he’s returned to his true self and that she still hasn’t. “Open your heart to the darkness that you once embraced.” Young Xehanort recognises her potential and makes Sunset the thirteenth vessel. She then summons a Keyblade and starts attacking the girls, but when she gets in close, she tells them that she’s faking it. She wants to save Xehanort from the darkness, but she needs this power to do it. She then starts fighting Young Xehanort one on one. During the fight, Sunset manages to stab him in the chest and the two of them get thrown into a Deep Dive of Xehanort’s heart. While there, he sees two projections of himself, which Sunset tells him represent two possibilities. How he was in DDD powerful and confident, but has no control over what he does. The other is shy and unsure, but has real friends. She then tells him that she can’t force him to do anything; she’s just using all of her power to give him the one thing that he’s never had before: a choice. He initially says that of course he would prefer to be strong than weak, but then suddenly, all of the memories of his time with the girls comes back to him, and he realises that it was better than what he had before. Coming back to the real world, he turns on his older self, telling him that he’s choosing for himself. He then fights and manages to defeat him. When the girls run to him and say that they’re glad that it’s all over, Xehanort merely tells them that it’s not over yet. Since Master Xehanort is his future self, the only way to stop him is for him to return to his own time and change things, and with how time travel works, he won’t remember any them. This also means that he won’t be able to see them again. This makes them sad, since he’s become their friend, but Xehanort comforts them by saying that while he might not remember them, his heart will, as they’ve imprinted themselves on it, and that is what will allow him to change things. With a tearful goodbye, Xehanort then fades away as he returns to his own time. After he’s gone, the Organisation members start disappearing. Xigbar asks what’s going on, and Master Xehanort tells him that his younger self must have changed their past, which means that their timeline is being erased. They then all completely fade away. With everything, Sunset and the others hope that Xehanort is safe and happy wherever he is.

Epilogue

Late at night, a portal opens up outside of the school and two armored figures walk out of it. Their armor fades away, revealing Ventus and Master Xehanort. Ventus asks his master why they came here, and Xehanort tells him that he feels a connection to this world, even though he can’t remember coming here before. After a moment, he then prepares to leave again, mentioning how they’re going to be late for his friend’s student’s Mark of Mastery exam.
