me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

Been a hell of a ride, honestly. I just apologize for dragging it on for so long.

Not quite sure what to call this... · 7:33pm Sep 19th, 2017

I... I really don't know how to start this blog post, or where to begin. ...I, I just don't feel like I'm that good of a writer any more. It just seems like my latest stories aren't hitting quite the right marks with my followers as my older ones did.

These days, I actually feel lucky if any of my stories like counter breaches 10 likes compared to the 40 and 30 likes I used to get only a few short months ago. I'm just starting to get the feel of irrelevancy, like my writing doesn't matter to any one anymore. I'm just losing my confidence for writing. It's a hard feeling to describe, when you write for hours on end and you get that nagging feeling in the back of your brain telling you that chances are no one's going to pay attention to what you write nowadays anyway.

I know it's a hobby and all, but more than that... I feel jealous.

I'm seeing newer writers pop up with barely any followers and see their stories get good numbers of likes while I get barely any on my stories.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm whining, but... But really I needed to get that off my chest.

I think that it could be the subject matter. Your most recent story just didn't excite me enough to read it. It could be that the subject matter just wasn't most people's cup of tea. Still I think people enjoy your work you are doing it just hasn't been what some of us want to read. Try asking in a poll to seee what your fans want so you don't waste your time on a subject that will not bring in the views and votes.

Query: are you enjoying writing these stories?

Sure it's not a nice feeling, but don't get discourage.

Also remember were back in school period and people may don't have the time to read all they want. Myself I'm very busy as of now and the sure moment I have time to read are during train travels which are about two hours per week.

Your last story does pick my interest, but for now it's in my to read list and I have already about 1500 in there.

Thanks for sharing.

As Black_Knight stated, not many people have the time to read due to school, or work in my case. The only stories I've had time to read lately are around four, two of which are yours by the way. Sure, some stories get more attention than others, that's just how the dice rolled. no reason to get discouraged over it.

I understand your pain. I have been there. Don't give up. Things will improve.

Got any particular stories you want users to read? I'd be happy to check them out.

It's okay. If you really do enjoy writing then don't let this feeling keep you down. badninja has a point it might be your subject matter simply isn't what most people want t read, but don't let that discourage you it just means your work is more unique than others.

I'll send them to you via PM, as one of them I can't exactly post in a link.

Yeah, I am. Some more than others, but I'm still enjoying writing them.

Then keep writing. Write what you enjoy and would want to read. People will either like it or they won't but as long as you enjoy what you produce then that is what is important.
