It Isn't the Mane Thing About You · 5:22pm Sep 16th, 2017
Otherwise known as "Marshmelodrama: The Episode."
It was wonderful seeing Zecora in an episode, especially since she hasn't made many appearances since the S5 finale, and the other characters all had some great moments. Rarity was a delight as usual, and the way she used her generosity to help the businesses she came across was a nice reminder of her other character traits. Furthermore, there were some fun callbacks to previous episodes, such as Big Macintosh and Sugar Belle making a brief cameo as well as Applejack reminding Rarity about the time she helped the sea serpent in the pilot episodes. The scene where Twilight whisked away a crystal pony's mane and the subsequent reaction was hilarious as well. It was one of the funniest moments in the season.
The weaker parts of the episode came from how some of the scenes dragged on for a little too long. However, there was nothing objectionable about the episode. All of the scenes had their place in the narrative, there were plenty of funny jokes and scenes, and everything felt natural in how the characters behaved. We even got some foreshadowing for Mage Meadowbrook's legend in the episode, which should be exciting once we see it.
Anyway, while it may not be the best episode, it's one worth checking out. It's understandable if the episode isn't your cup of tea, but despite the minor pacing issues, those who prefer the calmer slice of life stories that MLP excels at will find plenty to enjoy about the episode. I wish you all the best!

You know, I'm beginning to wonder... All these Legends of Magic episodes, they do have to make me wonder... Do they tie into the Unexpected Connection episode and the season finale? From the looks of things, it's entirely possible the Mane Six are reincarnations or descendants to the Legends. Probably a wild theory, I know, but...

A synopsis for one of the upcoming IDW comics suggests the legends will play some kind of role in the finale, but otherwise, that's all we know about the finale. As for Uncommon Bonds, we currently know nothing about that episode, and it could be about anything.
A really enjoyable episode with Rarity at her best, despite the mane incident.
Seeing Zecora after so long was a pleasure and I'm happy the haven't forgot her.
But I must say Rarity really pull out nicely that punk look and it was totally unexpected. Seriously her shredding the guitar in "Honest Apple" first and now that look, she's actually secretly playing in a punk-rock band... Somebody please do a story about it.

Yeah, it was an enjoyable episode, and Rarity's punk manestyle was pretty cool!
It was okay but again the town ponies had hit with the stupid stick including not knowing what your Wife likes..what?

Well, I guess Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich could use some counseling in that specific example.

Yeah, for all we know it could prove that the Apples and Pies are related or as my friend RuinQueen posed, Scootaloo getting adopted by Rainbow Dash or the two being related in some way. Hell, Celestia or Starlight could be related to Twilight for all we know. With a episode about bonds, and no information, anything could go at this point. But most likely, it could be two ponies having the most unexpected of friendships. That's what the title screams to me at this point.

With that kind of foreshawing, that's likely to happen.
