Hanging Out With Real Life Vampires, Werewolves, and Magic Users (Lifestyle)

Yes, vampires really do exist. And so do werewolves and various kinds of magic users. I got introduced to real life vampires, werewolves, and various types of magic users in middle school when I hung out with a coven of real life vampires, werewolves, wiccans, and pagans (they were all in their own covens, but hung out in one big group). I remained friends with these people all through high school and am still friends with many of these same people today.

I was the only one in school (in both middle school and high school) who would hang out with them as everyone else was kind of terrified of them. I would defend them a lot too because they would be picked on, almost of a daily basis. For literally no reason other than just existing. Which was kind of messed up.

And the messed up thing about it was that they never really bothered anyone. They just hung out in their own social group. That's it. But you know. Humans can be dumb. That is something that will never change.

Anyway, I learned a lot about these communities just hanging out with these particular people. And I found them all to be rather normal people, despite some of their spiritual beliefs. But we all have our own way of viewing the world at the end of the day.

I am not sure how people view these groups these days, but when I went to school (in my area of the United States) they were very hated. And I by extension would be picked on a lot just because I chose to hang out with my friends. Which kind of sucked.

Like some boys actually called me a witch and tried to burn me with a lighter. And I wasn't even wiccan (not that there would be anything wrong with that, but I am not).

Anyway, I was able to fight back as I am trained in various fighting forms and various forms of weapons combat. Which usually landed me in the priciple's offfice. Because you know; you are just supposed to let people kick your ass. You aren't supposed to fight back. School logic.

I tended to hang out with the outcasts a lot. I have my own spiritual beliefs that make me a weirdo in many ways. I never really talk about it because I think it is something that I should keep to myself, given people's views on supernatural/ paranormal stuff in general.

Anyway, these were just some of my own experiences that I thought I would share. I hope that people can have a better view of these groups in the future. Granted, I understand that there are 'dark' versions of all of these groups. I am not going to pretend that they don't exist, because I know they do. In fact, one of my vampire friends had a cousin who was in a dark vampire coven and she avoided that cousin like the plague. Yeah. Never get involved with the dark covens.

That being said, I don't think that the people who are neutral or light should be thrown under the bus just because the darker covens exist. But that is just my view on things.

I personally feel that I learned a lot by becoming friends with these individuals and I am still glad to be friends with these people to this day. They have definitely added a lot to my life and I treasure each one as a close friend who can understand to some degree where I am spiritually coming from.

I am just putting this story out in the universe for anyone who might be interested in hearing it. Have a nice day and take care.

Did you hang out with any...

...sparkly vampires? :duck:

4668529 Well one of my vampire friends used to wear sparkly makeup, if that counts. It was a trend for a while, and she very much rode that wave of that trend. :')

HA, knew it! Twilight is a true story :rainbowlaugh:

4668533 As long as Bella and Edward aren't real, I'm okay with that. :P

4668552
I can get behind this. The main characters of Twilight are lame, but some secondary characters are awesome!

4668556 Oh I completely agree! Actually, I kind of wish that the story was about that secondary characters, not the main ones. :P

4668562
Yeah. I don't remember the names, but off the top of my head I remember that vampire who dressed in her wedding dress to take revenge from her ex-fiance. That was both awesome and hilarious :rainbowlaugh:

4668564 Yeah the side characters were literally all more interesting than the two bland leads. :L

Can I ask something? Why do people hate the concept of sparkly vampires? Do they think it makes them less intimidating? I mean with the tone of the movies it made sense that vampires wouldn't be horrifying monsters like in horror movies, so what's the deal?

Also, do people have a problem with the werewolves of Twilight? Because I think they're cool :3

4668586 I actually don't mind the concept of sparkly vampires. I just think that it could have been explained better. And I thought that the lore for the werewolves was one of the more interesting aspects of the series.

I agree. I think people love to shit on these movies too much that they ignore all the interesting and awesome things in them. I personally liked the concept of each vampire having a special ability. It was like the concept of an anime show! Like that vampire called Alec and how he controls a dark cloud and uses it to fight. That's awesome!

I also like the fact that werewolves are just huge wolves. I don't know about others, but I'm not a fan of the overly ugly and disgusting designs some movies give werewolves. I think Twilight's werewolves were refreshing. I would've loved if they were anthros buuuut that's something more fitting for either the MLP universe or some anime show :twilightsheepish: (if you know of such anime show, tell me ASAP!)

4668636 I actually viewed it that way as well! It would be nice to see other 'anime-like' novels appear. I'm a big fan of anime and manga so it is cool seeing stories that implement some of those ideas in their storytelling.

Well, anime is awesome. It already took American concepts and did them better. For example, Final Destination. There's an anime called "Another" (It's only 12 episodes long). That anime is basically Final Destination, but with an actually interesting story and interesting characters. I recommend it. I think it's only a matter of time before anime takes Twilight (the books, not the horse :p) and does it right!

.................... Vampires or Strigoi are undead revenants that feast on human flesh and blood to prolong their lives, and range from savages to clever deceivers that lure their victims into a false sense of security.

Werewolves are cursed men and woman that are unwilling hosts to a savage beast that feasts on all, and are doomed to be monsters until their lives are taken.

Magic is an art-from and a science that is as dangerous as it is difficult to master. One that brings great insight into the workings of the world and life. Famous sorcerers that were also men of science where John Dee and Sir Issac Newton.

What you hanged out with are pop-culture fanatics and a few odd people. But a relatively harmless lot.

Vampires and Werewolves (The Monsters) can only be found in Europe and for the most part have been exterminated and are relegated to myth, movies, and video games.

Sorcery lost prominence due to charlatans claiming to have mystical power where they have none, and the passage of time rendering most knowledge of the subject to be rare and often hidden away. A result of a craft from a less enlightened age, that ironically is responsible for the creation for the scientific method and philosophical thought.

4668667 I haven't seen the anime 'Another' yet. Which is strange since I have seen a lot of anime (and read a lot of manga as well). I will have to check it out. :)

4668668 Actually, it is also a lifestyle/ spiritual belief system. And it doesn't have to do with popular culture. For example, many modern vampires and werewolves have spiritual beliefs to why they are those things. And so do modern day Wiccans/ other types of modern day magic users. It is very far removed from popular culture. Many werewolves, vampires, and such I have met don't even consume media related to what they identify as. It is just something that has either been in their family or something they identified with when they met other people who were like them.

Not to say that there are not other people who are more on the lifestyle end of those things and go for the more popular culture angle. But my friends were different than that.
