Share A Smile - A Thank-You to Three People · 10:04pm Sep 11th, 2017

So Crystal Wishes did something wonderful yesterday, and I'd like to join in by thanking three specific people that I've gotten to know over the course of the past few months. All three have helped create and lead communities that I am proud to be part of, and I would like to acknowledge their efforts as leaders as well as to thank them for being the wonderful people they are.

All three of these people have done a lot for the community and made fimfiction a better place through their efforts, and while I was initially hesitant to talk to them because of their fame, I quickly learned that they were approachable, friendly people, willing to spend time chatting with a nobody on the site. In time, I've learned to see the people underneath their personas, and it is those people I would like to give my thanks to today.

Also, at least two of them suck at accepting compliments, so I expect there to be multiple cups of tea brewed, blushies, and fingerguns.

MrNumbers

A brilliant author who is always willing to lend a hand to any writer looking to improve their craft, MrNumbers is a very well known name in the fandom, and there are many people who will sing praises about his works for days (seriously, go read his stories if you haven't, they're great). But this blog isn't about praising good authors (even though all three authors in this post are wonderful writers), it's about the people behind the name.

MrNumbers has, in his Discord chat, fostered a beautiful community of people who are as flawed as they are virtuous. It is a community where I feel I can truly be myself, and I know that there are many others who feel the same way, and it's all thanks to our benevolent overlord, who shows us every day that you can have your flaws, but still work through them to be a generous, kind person. I've seen him tested to the limits of his patience, and each time I've seen the strength of his character shine through. Despite all the crap he's gone through in his life, he's still willing to help others, and that is admirable.

So here's to you, you asshole. Rarity would be proud of what you've created.

Aragon

It wouldn't be right to talk about MrNumbers without also talking about his better (or at least funnier) half. Aragon needs no introduction - his comedies are the stuff of legends and he's even had a story make it to the #1 top rated spot. He's funny and quirky and is a little too obsessed with autofellatio.

And I've also had the privilege of seeing him when he wasn't being funny, when he wasn't talking about sucking his own dick or losing a fight to a lamppost. And what I saw was a good man who wanted to make people smile, who wanted to help others succeed and become better writers/people, and who was willing to stand up for his friends when they needed it. I've seen him give and give to an audience that I feel doesn't truly appreciate him, and yet he continues to soldier along, never giving up the light in his heart and doing Pinkie Pie proud in spreading laughter and joy.

Crystal Wishes

Finally, we have the woman of the hour, Crystal Wishes. Crystal and her husband Anzel have created a wonderful world in the Quill and Blade universe, and more than that, they've created a wonderful, positive community that is accepting and encouraging of everyone. Their community is a wonderful place, a breath of fresh air in this negative world, and I love it to bits. I've seen Crystal act as a wonderful role model, a beacon of hope and positivity to those in need, defending her friends and letting them know she's there for them and that she supports them every step of the way.

I've also seen her in her darker moments, in the moments where she's had the chance to let down her hair. And what I found was a woman who wasn't perfect, who was just as flawed as the rest of us. But despite that, she managed to push past her darkness and be what her community needed her to be, to be a symbol of love and light in this dark world. Even at her darkest, she still thinks about others, still cares only about making the world a better place, and that is something I admire and envy. Most people will never know what she's given to the community, will never see beyond the cheerful and bubbly romance author, and that's a damn shame, but for those of us who know, know that we support you, and that recognize what you've done for so many. Fluttershy would be in awe of what you've done, what you've become, and Anzel is a lucky man to have you (I assume you're lucky to have Anzel as well, but alas, I've not had the same opportunity to get to know him).

So there you have it, an altogether too heartfelt thank you to three people who have changed my life in the past year. They're wonderful people, and I really wish that more people could see them for who they truly are, because while they're all admired for their writings, I've found their characters to be even more deserving of praise. Thank you for making this community a better place, and for giving us a place where we can be ourselves. The Mane 6 would be proud to call you friends.

There are several other people I'd like to thank, for various reasons, but these three were the ones I could write about with a common theme, so it'll have to do for now. There are many others who have contributed to making fimfiction a better place, many people whom I've gotten to know and love, and I would like to thank all of them as well for giving me a home these past few years.

I love you all, and may the light of friendship be ever in your hearts.

I want y'all to know that I read the blog as soon as it came out, even if I didn't comment then. The first thing I did was to immediately call Tinwe a slur, to reestablish my dominance in the relationship.
