FMF 29: 8 September 2017

Hey guys, and welcome back to another Fandom Music Friday! So far, no progress on getting FimFiction unblocked; not even a notification that they've processed my request. This week, I think I'm going to be moving one step up the chain of command. Probably going to ask Student Life. If that doesn't work, I'll keep moving on up. But I'm still working on my story, and fall's right around the corner. I'd like to be making a bit more progress, but now the semester is starting to get up to speed. College has to come first. I can't let my grades slip again.

I've recently watched a video highlighting the political writing on the show "Legend of Korra," and it really opened my eyes to a new direction I could take some subplots in History Reimagined. Starlight is going to have to wage war against two major villains at once. Now, she'll have the slight advantage that they'll be working against one another as well as against her, but achieving victory over both simultaneously won't be easy. Not trying to spoil anything, but she'll have a much better chance of success if she focuses on them one at a time, dividing the narrative neatly into two segments, mirroring the fact that LoK has one major political villain per season.

Transitioning back to canon, the earliest of the political problems Equestria faced was that of Nightmare Moon's return (at least "earliest" by appearance in the show). I know a lot of bronies hold Luna as "Best Princess," but Celestia has her fans as well. As far as music goes, "Lullaby" is an obvious entry on the list of Celestia-centric fan-made songs. I found this gem a while back, and while it's a PMV rather than an original piece of music, the music fits Celestia surprisingly well. Further, the scenes selected fit the lyrics quite nicely.

CHriegerCH's most popular work by far, this PMV features a song originally written for the third book in the series Heralds of Veldemar. Though I personally have no experience with this trilogy of books, the beautifully written and performed music almost made me go find a copy. (If any of you have experience with this series, feel free to give us if it's a good read.) Fun fact: This music was written in 1995: That's older than I am, and much older than Friendship is Magic. The fact that this PMV even exists is somewhat of a miracle. Nonetheless, the fandom is definitely better because for its presence.
