Fan fic story ideas that ended up being canon in the series? · 6:41am Sep 5th, 2017

Just watched the new episode, S07: E17 "To Change a Changeling" and it left me with a big smile on my face. Why? Well, have you ever came up with a super random story idea that eventually became canon in the actual show? Spoiler Alert for those who haven't watched it yet!

Hopefully those who are reading this blog post know, that I am in the middle of completing my first story, A Quest For Love: An Apple-Pear Family Story, which was started a few months ago and basically ties into the "Perfect Pear" episode. Those who have read it know that I have touched on Thorax and his Changeling kingdom in the third chapter, which takes place shortly after Chrysalis' defeat in the end of Season 6. Since I began writing this story well before "To Change a Changeling" aired, I basically needed to use my imagination and really expand on what happened to Thorax, his subjects, his hive, and his kingdom overall. For me, this was a nail-biting dilemma. My main goal for this story was to ensure that it tied in perfectly with the MLP timeline, however I had to write about future events that had not taken place yet in the MLP series!

While writing, I honestly cringed at some of the things that I had come up with, thinking that some of the ideas that I had mustered were just too far-fetched, and I still continued to have this feeling well after Chapter 3 was published. That was until I saw the recent episode.

While watching the episode, it was as if all my anxiety, worry, and "cringiness" melted away. I literally smiled and breathed a huge sigh of relief after finding out that my far-fetched ideas weren't so far-fetched after all. Heck, all the ideas I wrote about in Chapter 3 of my story ended up being canon, from the Changeling landscape being transformed, to the idea of unreformed Changelings.

Overall, this story left a huge smile on my face
