Three Words · 12:10am Sep 1st, 2017
Specifically, what3words, a global addressing system that assigns every ten foot-by-ten foot square of the Earth's surface its own unique set of three random words. It's been around for a few years, but I only just became aware of it. Why am I mentioning it?
I'll say again: Three random words. If that isn't a writing prompt, I don't know what is. Just be careful when posting your personal combination in the comments if you don't want people to know where you live.
That....that is Intresting.
*Types in random words*
*gets sent to 'Ban That School' near 'That Sub District Administration'*
How many words is that!?
You sure you're not a decimal place off? The squares it's drawing look a lot bigger than 10 ft. If it were really that small, I'd have to pick one room of my house, but the squares encompass about 3 houses on my street.
Edit: Hm. The site text does say 3m, so about 10 ft, but when I click on the "explore map" button and zoom all the way in, the squares are much larger than that.
It might not be exact, but words inside my kitchen include "salsa", "onions" (which is hilarious, we've been making salsa recently), and "dishes". XD

There are at least 4 squares inside my apartment. (And all the apartments above and below mine)
Not including a vertical dimension seems like a serious oversight.

Ah, I needed to go to satellite view. In map view, the size of the squares relative to the length of the streets here was off. Let's see. No interesting words over my bed. The kitchen sink has "ooze." My home office has "chapter." My driveway professes to have apples, but I haven't gotten any off my trees in years because the deer are damn pests. >:V
Or worse, get sucked into a bizarre alternate world full of crazed monsters, with a cat that won't let you do anything productive...
Neat, but I think I'll stick with RoboFoME for writing prompts.
My college dorm at Large State University was somewhere around "face crowds newly." My senior year computer classes were at "speech smashes stale."
Meanwhile, the place I grew up contains "bikes" and "pool." Yes, we actually were members of the swimming pool nearby, and I liked riding bikes...
Hmm. So far I found that my Suburban is "guiding intercepts" (I can see that); my bathroom is "yappy." my Frito Lay truck apparently has an "adventure hatch," the office at work (and presumably the manager therein) is "disrupting."
For Silver Glow's Journal fans, her balcony is "cakes wanted jumps" (appropriate), and her bedroom is "kinks discouraged notice." That never stopped her.
As an added bonus, her college dorm room is "double traded cute."
Neither my.little.pony or friendship.is.magic exist anywhere. I am displeased.
I have to forgo my privacy to note that while "amphibious seasick anchovies" isn't the best writing prompt, it is the name of my mid-90s grunge/punk band.
"drunk.writing.tomorrow" is in the Norwegian Sea. CLEARLY A GOOD SIGN

It may not have short words like "is" or "my". I can't find any results with "six" (e.g. "six little ponies", for which it suggested the autocorrects of "sits", "slid" and "skis"), though that may also have been a function of them leaving out numeric words.
There's a "little.friendship.ponies" in the deep wilderness near Kamchatka, Russia. There's a "dragon.with.ponies" near Resistencia, Argentina, if you're the Spike sort.
True fact: "perfectly.normal.pony" is in China, but "perfectly.normality.pony" is a nine-hour drive from my house.
Soulless sideburns salsa. Huh.
File under "Total Coincidence": found a Guardians of Harmony Cheese Sandwich for $11 on clearance at Walmart today. (I lie. I found about fourteen of 'em. I only bought one.)
4654366 Magic.friendship.unicorn turns up three results, counting variants- in Turkmenistan, Algeria and Morocco.
By the way if y'all ever wanna visit me, I live at 501 North Main Street, Santa Ana CA
I tried to get three words for my address, but they're fifteen minutes late.
Also, I apparently have a "pursuer" in my bedroom. No idea what he's pursuing, but if he got ten by ten foot for it that's gonna be a short pursuit.
There's princess.twilight.sparkle in Canada. Because of course. And rarity.dress.makes as well. Wonder if there are any more ponies in Canada? Couldn't find anything with Applejack tho. Hmph!

Notably, unicorn.twilight.sparkle is in Iran instead.
My home has reoccurring themes of "broke" and "fail".
EDIT: OMG I got married at enjoyed.wiggling.peculiarly
More edit because I love this thing:

Apple.farmer.pony is in Mogilev, but you can make all of those plural and get a few hits in America.
Of course, the best part of that is looking up where leader apples exist.
Can't stop won't stop:

friend.ship.magic is in Rochester, Minnesota.
4654316
Is this a reference to something? It sounds like a reference to something.
4654833
I'm roughly ninety percent certain it's a .hack reference.
4654712
Seriously, this thing is kind of addictive! I've always been kind of fascinated by maps anyway and this just adds another dimension to it for me.
Also, unicorn.starlight.glimmer is in China. She really is a communist!
4654833
4654836
And 10% certain it's a Persona 5 reference?
The precise location of the trashcan at my office has "trash loose".
Meanwhile the restroom has "labs taped". Ummmmm...
"Small.pastel.horses" is in Western Australia and "large.pony.convention" is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Hmm.

My wife had me look up equal.flank.pony, former Eastern Bloc if I remember history.
