Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining.

You probably know how this sort of thing goes. There you are, mowing your grass on a day that can't decide whether to shine or drizzle on you, a few years and counting into your non-writing streak. Whatever thoughts you're having are at the expense of your lawnmower picking a fight with every passing tuffet and losing.

    Tyomnaya strana

Just as alicorns descend upon parched wastelands bearing storms and seeds, so too do kindly translators upon my horsewords. Dark Country's received a Russian translation by the kind efforts of

    Stellarum voces

A jolly update for folk who like either fanfic readings or The Motion of the Stars, and a downright rapturous one for folk who like both. My name is R has brought their vocal talent to bear on the story, complete with images and background music to help

    On Brains

A nice breezy dialogue to ease in with:

CARABAS’ COMMON SENSE: So, a hypothetical conservation for you.
CARABAS: Two lines in and we’ve already got fictional discourse nested in the initial fictional discourse. Gosh, I must just love to live dangerously.

Story Recommendation: To Perytonia · 4:25pm Aug 31st, 2017

Do you like Adventure fics?

Do you like superb and exhaustive worldbuilding?

Do you like a lovely narrative with well-done characterisation, spot-on voices, and an ear for scene-setting and description?

Do you like cross-cultural attempts at dress-making?

Do you like the notion of Best (Clothes) Horse and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash venturing off to foreign realms to make friends with these beauties?

If your answer to any or all of the above was 'Yes', then To Perytonia might well be just up your alley. And I'm not just saying that on account of having been a very gratified and commendably under-worked proof-reader for it. Give it a whirl. I'm sure you'll like what's already up just as much as I did, as well as what's to come.

Added to read later on this recommendation

So we're just adding wings to anything at this point? Thanks, M.A. Larson.

Added to tracking! But honestly, Cloudy Skies should have used the picture above for the cover image! It's beautiful!

Well dang. You have sold me on this one.

Doesn't hurt that it has lovely cover art, as well.

Good man! Or gentleman, rather, if nom-de-plumes are to be believed.

"Hey, Larson! How's the show been going since I left? Did you ... what are you ... that's a scalpel and a needle and a pinned deer, what ... Larson, what the fuck are you- "

"Don't question my methods, Lauren!"

4653923
Pretty, isn't it? :pinkiehappy: Though I do like the picture Cloudy Skies already has there. The faces are good.

Sold, and I didn't have to throw in any other stories free for the price of one as well. My patter must be improving. :raritywink:

4653933
Well, I suppose it helps to know your market. :derpytongue2:

Added to "Highly Reccomended".

4653954
Glad to hear it.

You had me at "superb and exhaustive worldbuilding". Going by the praise, this sounds like it'll be a fun read. Added it to Tracking, so I can get to it when I have some time.

Hope you enjoy it, as and when sufficient time winds your way. The whole thing's fairly muckle, but the staggered release of the chapters should make taking them in a bit easier.

Actually, you can blame these guys on Jorge Luis Borges. :twistnerd:
