I'm currently on vacation, so I've got extra time to write this week. I'm on chapter 8 right now, and I'm hoping to extend my buffer a bit so that I can keep the 1/week updates going on longer.
Of course, I've also got Labor Day off work. 
Chapter 5 began a trend of piling shit onto the main characters' backs that will be continuing for a little while longer. I don't feel that I've quite moved into "dark" tag territory, but it's always darkest before the shitstorm, or some other mixed and mangled metaphor.
Plot-wise, the stuff I'm writing right now is approximately 1/3 of the way through the story. That's going by planned plot points, mind you, not word count. I'm terrible at estimating word counts, as characters regularly run away with their own scenes while I write. 
But hey, on the bright side, Twilight and Spike will be showing up on-screen in chapter 7! 
It's nice to hear that you have lots of free time for writing, but don't feel obligated to write more for us than what your creative juices and quality control can handle in a given time. And be sure to save some of that time for your own fun, unless writing happens to fulfill that.
Just felt like saying that since I encounter a lot of writers who saddle themselves with unrealistic obligations and either the story suffers for it or they feel so burdened that it takes even longer to update if the story isn't actually abandoned altogether. I'd hate to see that happen to this story.
