The Eclipse · 4:13am Aug 26th, 2017
This is the ninth time this week I've pulled this up to work on it. Kish it's been a LONG week. I should have gotten this post done Tuesday-
never mind... life hit the fan nothing I can do about that. So, I got to go north to see the eclipse. We made a day trip of it, and mostly I had a good time.
We left just after 7 Am... two hours AFTER the time I had planned... though since I didn't get up until 5:30... ehhhhh I blame myself.
Our goal was Tennessee... we made it to the 90% line in Little Rock Arkansas. The trip there... nothing really of note happened.
We ended up camping out at the caboose for the duration of the event. Then... went sight seeing.

Shadows from the trees.

Little known fact... I collect fans. Fancy... mostly the cloth ones. But most any will do. Mid eclipse, my little sis noted that the shadows from the holes were 'eclipse shadows.' so we got a picture.
After it was done, we headed out in search of a historic sight we'd been informed of by a travel agent....
On the way I found a RED BRIDGE. This... well... it goes back to my younger artist days when one of my challenges was to draw one, showing the design and... well blueprint style. I'd never seen one before in my life, so I was TICKLED to see one.
Finally, after an hour of hunting, we found the location.
Aw yeah!
All in all, we had a good time. The traffic was rough, got lucky when a big truck blew a tire right beside us. Some damage to the car, but nothing bad. Got home REALLY late.
I had fun, but I'm glad it was just ONE day. Not going into it.
Now, as you guys know... or probably have heard. Texas has declared a state of emergency concerning the hurricane. I'm east of Dallas. That means, right now I'm fine. We've had some heavy rain, but right now, nothing we can't handle. Nothing worse than our normal May weather. But those south of us are going to be in for it.
I've got to hit the sack. This week has been tough.
VK out.
