Anyone who's watched the Weather Channel recently knows that a big fuck-off storm is headed for the Texas coast. For us in the Houston, it's looking like Allison 2.0. For those of you who were NOT in the Houston area back in June of '01, that means a metric shit-ton of rain for us.
My family and I aren't leaving. We're well out of reach of the storm surge and this storm isn't looking as bad as Ike. It's just gonna take a while to be over, since the whole thing looks like it'll be parking just over Corpus Christi for a couple days.
Good luck to my fellows further south. Stay safe.
Yeah. I hope it won't be Allison bad. Right now so far in Pasadena it's just a light rain so far, but it has only begun.

Well, they're forecasting up to 25" of rain and, according to Wikipedia, Allison was 80".. Let's hope the weathermen are right about that.
Please stay safe and don't die, kthx.
Hope you're doing okay. Looks like you are getting just pummeled with rain.

Hasn't been too bad where I'm at, in all honesty. It's raining now, but I'm just on the outer edge of the storm. Back yard's a lake, but that usually happens after a good thunderstorm.
