Hello everybody. So if you're looking back at my story today, you may have noticed a change in the overall word count for the story.
Before
Chapter 1: 4,645 words
Chapter 2: 5,990 words
Chapter 3: 8221 words
Chapter 4: 10,934 words
Chapter 5: 8,022 words
Chapter 6: 10,918 words
Chapter 7: 12, 235 words
Overall: 60,965 words
After
Chapter 1: 4,337 words
Chapter 2: 5,990 words
Chapter 3: 7,441 words
Chapter 4: 9,931 words
Chapter 5: 7,610 words
Chapter 6: 9,924 words
Chapter 7: 11,181 words
Overall: 56,414 words
Now don't panic. I spent a good deal of today doing some editing on the story, yes. But I was fixing typos that either I'd found when I re-read my story, or which other people had pointed out to me.
I put in some missing words, took out some words that were in there by mistake, added some punctuation marks, combined and/or split a paragraph or two, re-wrote some sentences that I thought were a little wonky, and fixed some minor continuity errors. Nothing plot critical was changed.
It was quite a bit of tedious work, but nothing really major. To be quite honest, I have no clue why the word count went down so significantly. I didn't subtract that much. I know I didn't. And my additions and subtractions certainly didn't end up taking out 4,551 words.
That's... okay, I don't actually know what I actually took out in total, but it couldn't have been that much. Maybe the counter is just weird.
Anyway, I probably will still have some corrections to make to the old chapters, typos and grammar type things, but I just wanted to let all of you know in case you noticed the drop and got concerned.

08/22/17 UPDATE
Verified it. The word count is weird. I was doing a few more minor edits (formatting words and fixing "Friendship Castle" to "Castle of Friendship", if you readers want to know) today, and chapter 2's word count was 5990 before, but once I entered editing mode, it was listed as 5524.
Maybe it acts weird because I copy and paste chapter text from other programs?
Anyway, yeah, word count changed again, but it's all perfectly fine. I didn't take out another 1,000 words or something like that today.
