    What I would do differently

As my main account announced, the Shooting stars fic is done and cancelled. And in it's place is something new. At the same time, a certain writer released season 10 of starfleet. and that got me thinking...what would I do differently.

OOOPS! Sorry, kind of forgot about something important.

Sorry, but when your dream (A Sonic movie that did well and made big) came true you kind of frogot. Well, that and having some fun on other sites picking apart some new targets. And weapon making.

    More on weapon making later.

    Evolution new chapter!

Yay, a new chapter. No, I havent' watched all of the finale though I was spoiled and it ended the way I wanted it to.

But, you are probably wondering why it took me over a year to finish. Well, it's a long story, and no it doesn't really have anything to do with my burnout or annoyance.

EQG and Plot Holes: Revenger of the sith · 8:44pm Aug 20th, 2017

Hello and welcome back as we look back at the various plot holes that the movie “Starfleet humans” produced. And once again, this is touching upon a little on Sunset Shimmer.

You might be wondering why a lot of it hits her...that is mainly because 49% of the plot holes revolve around just how little she matches with her cannon persona. And this is not thinking about how she is not all that great of a villian.

Sunset and Flash broke up because of one good reason. IT wasn’t because she was annoying and bothersome ect ect. It was because Flash noted that Sunset was actually evil and manipulative. None of wich she shows in the fic proper at all, or anything that shows off her desire for power and glory.

Hell, during the rehersals, she actually acts nice and shows some signs of kindness. The only one who says that she doesn’t is...Starla Shine. And, playing the role of the pure girl to a t, she says that Sunset hangs out with Lighitng more. But, since we never saw it, we are to come to the conclusion Starla is being a possessive bitch. Not helping is the fact that I can’t help but feel a little creeped out by the relationship with Starla and Loghting’s relationship in general It isn’t just here, but in the sequel as well.

Actually, I think Starla is one of the other Starfleet members I want to touch upon here for the moment. Remember how I discuss that putting her into a military accademy would help out a lot with the plot holes in this story? Starla was one of the ones I was thinking about, because of her backstory that was added into the story in the remake.

Her mother was important part of the reason why she became Starfleet in the first place. It’s like Artie and his reason for becoming a member of the team, and should be something that you take into consideration for why she became a member in Starfleet in the first place. Because she wantedd to honor her mother’s legacy.

See, when you make an alternate version of a character, there will always be some parts of the character you need to take into consideration so we can still feel like it’s the same person. For instance, in JLA: The Nail, we see that without Superman the world goes to pot. However, we see several of the superheroes are still very much who they represent. The same can be said of things like Kirk in the mirror universe or like a multitude of alt verses of characters.

Going into the pony side of things, we see that Rarity is still very much a lover of fasion and a girl who likes to bring out the inner beauty of things. I believe that if this was an actual series rather than a series of 70 minute movies plus shorts we would start to see more of what we love about her: HEr desire to provide help however she can, always willing to offer herself in times of need, and the desire to work hard when it comes time for it.

The same cannot be said of Starla, who quite frankly offers a lot of problems not only for her, but for Lighting’s relationship. By this time in the story, Lighting and Starla were already in a relationship and suddenly we that he is easily ready to fall for the next pretty face. It gets worse in the sequel where she wants to kiss him even though he is married to the alternate verse version of her. And no one finds this a little bit awkward?

Add on top of this, there is almost nothing here that connects her to her Starfleet sefl beyond the fact she into Astology. She is easily picked on [because of her being different...somehow even though she is hot. I so do ‘love’ that trope] but hides her martial art abilities. Wouldn’t a better reason be an eating disorder that would match up with a problem she had in season 2? Wich would serve as a good reference and a waay to relate to a dea mother? No love of archery? But she wants to be in drama? Was there no archery club in school?  Hell, thanks to the lack of description of the practice for the drama, it seems like she is just being a jelous bitch to Sunset for no reason!

This brings me to the last question that I would like to leave you all off on...

How does a stable boy become Lex Luthor?

How does a stable boy become Lex Luthor?

A REALLY big desire to be the one on top and the willingness to work for it.

Lordy.
It says something about his philosophy when the Bitch Queen and Nice Girl act completely contrary to their role.
If Mykan had any sense, he'd just claim the whole thing's meant to be interpreted ironically.
Yet he doesn't. Due to his completely backwards morality, his villains come across as more moral and sympathetic than his heroes.
In my previous comment about how Starla is bullied for no reason, he just said...

Truth is, you guys are bullying her just for how she is... Kinda like how I was bullied in school for not being interested in girls, cars, movies, or smoking.

(So was I, so were many people, but we didn't turn out like him)
But yet again, he misses the point entirely.
Said point being- She Isn't Worth Bullying.
And yet the more we explore about what little character she has, the more unpleasant she becomes.
Frankly, for someone whose meant to represent the victim of the evils of bullying, she epitomises more of those vices than the villains.
As indeed to most of his heroes.

I was thinking, kill your abusive parents 'accidentally', live with another abusive father and a girl you fall in love with, watch man kill the woman, then proceed to do everything in your power to surpass him and then murder him, but that is cool too.

Excatly, I feel more compassion and caring for Sunset than I do Starla most of the time. This is kind of the biggest flaw here with writing and preference. By summarzing all of this and not really telling us anything, we are left with only the vaugest notion of what is going on. IT would be like me telling you the plot of the Judas Contract but leaving out any scenes of Nightwing feeling lost or just saying "Wally and Dick retired their costumes. They felt bad about it."

This is kind of what happens when you leave out details that I've actually been able to latch onto in their characters.

So was I, so were many people, but we didn't turn out like him

See, the thing is, I never really was, so I cannot relate. However, I do know targets when I see them. and as you said-

Said point being- She Isn't Worth Bullying.

If she wore glasses, had an embarrasing gimmick, was goth, chubby, nerdy, lived in a state that had a big city [happened], was forgien, or something, then I would believe it. However, this is the equivilant of all those times I see Alvin and the chipmunks getting bullied or picked on in the cartoons...it doesn't make sense.

Frankly, for someone whose meant to represent the victim of the evils of bullying, she epitomises more of those vices than the villains.

Excatly, she comes off playing a victim card more than anything else. Again, the problem is solved if the story used something from season 2, her eating habbits, but nope!

As indeed to most of his heroes.

Yeah, I don't really know that much of Lex Luthor outside of few DCAU episodes I watched and the "Iron Man VS. Lex Luthor" Death Battle. I was also going for more of a generalization.

Of course she isnt worth bullying. No one is worth bullying

That being said the stories in the OF will be basically the same just like the characters, so theres no time for me to bother bittering up and the best thing i can do is look up for legbie's,scipio's,corn's interpretations and your illustrations

Maybe you should state in the titles that you mean Starfleet Humans and not the original Equestria Girls.

How does a stable boy become Lex Luthor?

By shining shoes, emigrating, digging for gold and exploring the world for treasure? ...I feel so dirty.

I realise that. I'd never argue with that.
I just meant in terms of context and story-writing. If you have a character that's bullied, you need a reason why they're bullied.

How does a stable boy become Lex Luthor?

Actually it may be rare, but possible, due to my knowledge in business, you get to hear a lot of rags to riches stories. One such tale was about a starving kid working as a janitor in a cigarette company, he was observant, studying how the workers "cook" the product, until he got promoted into doing it. He earned little for he had to support his family, but it was enough to buy him an education. He started his own tobacco company soon, but like every success story there's an amoral side story being brushed aside. He befriended a dictator to further his business practices, and exploited the tax breaks given to him. He was not only charismatic, but had enough foresight to get away with his crimes when the newly reformed government hounds were on to him, he became virtually untouchable due to his scheming and left no holes on the ground. I don't know about you guys but this screams super villain planning.

As for Starla, it is possible her possessive nature is tied to her insecurities, it takes six months to get to know a person for you to notice that their mask of sanity is slipping from time to time. Perhaps she's a conniving masochist, who likes being hurt to exploit the feeling of others to get what she wants, while earning the loyalty of the emotionally abused boyfriend. Or perhaps their personalities match each other, considering Lighting is scornful and controlling of others, while for Starla, it is possible that she has the dominant submissive personality type, if she was written accordingly, it's possible for her to be yandere.

This is just me guessing, I've not read "Mykan's movies"

Hell, during the rehersals, she actually acts nice and shows some signs of kindness.

Yeah , a lot of Sunset's interactions with Lightning make more sense if you take Rainbow Rocks characterisation of her as a little lost girl and assume she's not trying to seduce him but rather desperately reaching out for a connection with somebody. The end of her story, when everyone else is celebrating the success of the play and Sunset is standing outside, alone and rejected until she leaves to go kick-start the plot of Equestria Girls, reads like a tragedy.

Wouldn’t a better reason be an eating disorder that would match up with a problem she had in season 2?

If I recall correctly wasn't it Apple Bloom who had the eating disorder in season two? Unless Mykan wholly rewrote that chapter since. Starla did, however, have an episode in season one where she got trash talked by some random ponies for being too skinny and out of shape (Lightning, of course, reassures her that he thinks she looks pretty and that's what really counts). It's the one with the rock monster, and it's also the one where I really understood the flaw in Mykan's plotting at the episode level because Starla's problem is brought up and never resolved (or even mentioned again).

I know too much about these stories.

How does a stable boy become Lex Luthor?

I know, it's such a weirdly fantasy touch (the stable boy who falls in love with the princess) in a series that is generally oriented far more towards the SF-nal end of the spectrum.

That is a supervillian story waiting to happen!!!!

I'll probably examine that part of the story when I get to it...but it does add a whole new level to the whole thing actually now I think about it.

There was also an episode where she had problems with Lighting calling her out on her...pancake legs?

And in the hands of someone else, this would be a great thing to work on and examine as a part of her character. Heck, I know of some sitcoms and stories that really dwell onto these subjects perfectly.

There was also an episode where she had problems with Lighting calling her out on her...pancake legs?

Ah yes, that episode. Where somehow the stupidity was cranked beyond belief even by Starfleet standards.

Why I am imagining a sexy pancake with pantyhose legs?

Why I am imagining a sexy pancake with pantyhose legs?

When you think "pancake legs", I'm not entirely sure there's anything else to think of but that. I mean that or legs made of pancakes.

Well that would give difficulties walking
