BronyCon: Thank you all! · 9:11pm Aug 17th, 2017
I need to send one final recap to thank y'all for your generous horsebrutality and friendship. The con was amazing and it was a joy to spend it with everypony there.
Here you can see me cosplaying as slightly less of a dork.
I want to thank everypony individually... but there are too many ponies and I am afraid to leave somepony out. So I won't. If we know each other or interacted, you already know that I love you. Personally, I had no negative interactions at all this convention, which is pretty amazing considering how many ponies I bumped into.
Just know that if I met you, and we talked, even briefly, it was memorable and I want to see you again soon! For some of you it may take me a while to match names to faces because my brain is defective but that is not an indication that the meeting was not indelible in other ways.
Now, for the mile-high recap.
State of the Wolf: I had fun and had very little depression to sideline me (except right at the end where I was bushed enough I couldn't join in for the episode viewing party). I had a headache from Mortal Kombat with a door, which I lost, so I ended up taking much more pain meds than I would have liked, but that was temporary. I caught con-crud which made me miss a staff meeting at work but that was okay and it's almost out of my system.
I hosted a couple of author-centric parties which were a blast, but I may have broadcast them too wide-band so I may pull back just a little bit on the announcements next year. A few ponies were not able to attend because the crowds were too large and loud, and I apologize for that too. There were a couple of other issues, but nopony seemed to have been harmed in the end, so I'm chalking it up as a win.
I probably should have been more naughty than I was (which was almost not at all), but I'm old and not used to being in such a good mood. Sadly, that hot tub in my suite almost went to waste, but I did have at least five lonely hot tubbings which were nonetheless very nice. There was a little flirting but I couldn't remember who was who, and you're all crazy because I'm old and unattractive anyway. But my partner Jewel will probably forgive me for not being more of a slut in his absence as long as I make up for it next time.
I enjoyed cosplaying as Moondancer. The makeup on my face could have gone better because I had some difficulty managing the moisturizer with the fixative (I don't normally use either), and ended up having to redo it completely, plus my eye was swollen up like a balloon at the time. I probably should have danced at the gala, but I enjoyed spending time there getting to know a new friend who was a little too shy to dance.
Quills and Sofas was where I spent most of my time, and I even succumbed to temptation to use one of the typewriters as shown in the previous entry. Thanks, Obama ROB. I only attended one non-event panel but I left quickly because it wasn't headed in the direction I was looking for. I'd have been to the writing panel on Saturday morning, but my eye was a blimp and it took me a while to recover. Hosting parties takes a lot out of your available convention time (about as much as cosplay does), so these things happen. I did pick up a lot of swag, though, some of it for Jewel (BronyCon is conveniently about a month before his birthday so I can continue to forcibly ponify him).
All in all, I had a great time and look forward to next year. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything or just want to chat.
What's next?
I'm finishing the next chapter of Irreversible and then I'll be posting a Twilight's Secret Journal update. The reason this is confusing and slow is that there are bizarre parallels between the two. In both cases, the protagonist is Twilight, and in both cases, she's currently listening to a flashback given by another character, which makes it confusing to write properly. I don't know why the parallels between different stories keep happening in my writing—if it's subconscious or just coincidental—but at the moment I'm leaning toward coinky-dink city because this is literally the only time I've had this issue come up directly in either story, and in both cases it's necessary.
I have a few stories near completion I'll be pushing afterwards, and maybe eventually a Veneer update, even. Still not sure if I should create a second account or not. It's stupid that I need to register a different email address to each account here, but it is what it is. Expect more updates and bits in the near future, though next week is when my classes begin so I'll probably be slow starting Wednesday up until next month begins. At least I'm under less drugs and am more productive now.
...and soon I'll probably post a Patreon poll for my sole current patron to decide what I'll be working on after all this. If you're a fan, you'd better keep your hooves crossed that she thinks like you do.
Thanks again for hosting baller writer hotel room parties! It was just as much of a blast as last year.
Thanks again!
There was an episode viewing party? Sheesh, given all of the stuff I missed, it's a miracle I even knew there was a convention...
In any case, wonderful to have met you in person, as I've probably said about five times now. Still no less true!
The fidget-spinner is a stroke of genius.
Pleasure to make your acquaintance! Must do this again some time!
Email addresses with non-routed plus-tags are good for that sort of thing if you're not actually looking to be separately pseudonymous to the site administrators themselves.
Looking forward to some of the story updates!
Great seeing you as always Trick! God, I've got to get to Irreversible. I wanted to catch up on it before bronycon but you can guess how that went :P
Ew, you caught the neckbeard cooties.
ONE OF US.
Oh, hush. You are not
Can we start calling him ROBama? Like, alternate between that and Robotic Operating Buddy
Oh, y'all are in trouble now!
Oh ho, so that's where I got the con crud!
I'm kidding. Well, I'm not kidding about being sick because I am, but I blame nopony. I can't speak for naughty, beyond saying that I've been conning (not necessarily pony) since the late 90s, and I have found that what happens at con usually stays there
Anyway, I've said it plenty of times already but thank you for the crash space, and forgive me for my Fluttershyishness around new people, else I might have chosen a more comfortable place to sleep. It was entirely a question of Flutters and her butterflies in my tummy. You're awesome and I'm glad to have had the chance to meet you, may there be many more
I'm a chatter without a schedule too, so bother Wishy should you ever have leave to do so!
