Solving New Mysteries and Rewriting History · 12:38pm Aug 13th, 2017

While it's not a continuation of the original show, it's clearly my cup of tea when it comes to good story telling in a visually appealing show. And already there are nods of previous Disney shows that might just get a crossover with this (The boys wanting to run away to Cape Suzette, and Scrooge' company having trouble in St. Canard).

From the previews and the like, I figured just right that there would be a "Dark Knight Returns" vibe regarding Scrooge; something must've happened that made him say, "Never Again." Time rolls on, and the world's trillionaire has gone bored to tears. It's only with his nephews and Webby who gets him back on the saddle.

Of course, things won't be easy as we will encounter classic villains such as Glomgold (who really has gotten some tail in this show) and the Beagle Boys.

The characters are rebooted quite well, including giving the boys more recognizable traits while keeping unity between them. Webby and Mrs. Beakley especially are the most changed, the latter being the closest to me of Butler from the Artemis Fowl series. Launchpad remains the same, but it's the good kind of same.

The one, not necessarily a bad thing, I would nitpick is that sometimes David Tennant would go into this deep Jim Cummings-esque voice whenever Scrooge is either angry or relaxed in the morning, like he is voicing two characters in one.

While I wouldn't mind the crossover, I hope they at least build up the success to this while also building up to the Terror that Flaps in the Night. We already got the issues in St. Canard, Launchpad himself, and there is concept art for Gizmoduck. That and a few lines of dialogue, especially if I hear a little answer regarding Launchpad's "clients." At least either have DW appear midseason or even the premiere of Season 2 should it be that successful.

Either way, there starts one big mystery. Take care now.
