Sonic Mania has leaked because the game codes in the Switch Collector's Editions AREN'T LOCKED UNTIL TUESDAY.

You know, like they are with every other damn platform.

I guess Nintendon't have brains.

So probably because of the leak, Sega has gone and pulled the trigger on the official opening cinematic, and O. M. G. Take a look.

People like me have been waiting more than 20 years for this game, and now the Switch gamers get it now while the rest of us have to wait four more days. Don't really care if it's an overreaction.

I mean, really? Something as simple as locking a download code until launch. Valve does it. Microsoft does it. Sony does it.

I can't stand Microsoft or Activison or Sony or Sega either yet if they give out good games it doesn't really matter. You know it. I know it. The gaming community knows it. You can deny it all you want but in the end you don't really give a damn. You're just waiting for the games to come out so that you can play them. So you can try and look all big and tough regarding how mad you are at one of the companies but in the end you're just waiting for them to give you their games so you can play them.

Indeed. I had $300 set aside for a Wii U, waiting for Star Fox Zero reviews. Then came the 6's and 7's. They are absolutely obsessed with shoving in gimmicks that detract from their game.

F-Zero GX was renowned and praised for it's blazing speed and brutal difficulty, and it's the only one of the franchise that I beat on Master difficulty.

That game came out in 2003. They put Captain Falcon in every single Super Smash Bros, but they can't budget for another F-Zero game, which would look damn amazing on current gen specs.

I wanted to play Super Mario World on the 3DS XL, but then discovered on the download page that I needed the *NEW* 3DS XL to download SNES games.

I was waiting until after the insanity of the holiday season to drop $80 on an NES Classic. But with the incredible demand behind it, they... Said they weren't making any more.

I'm actually kinda hoping that Mania's success may actually convince Nintendo to go "Hmm, maybe we should remaster Star Fox 64 with no gimmicks or two-screen control schemes."

So yes. I've been waiting for Nintendo to put out some new great entries in their franchises I love. I've been waiting for 14 years.

I'm not so sure this was a fuckup on Nintendo's part. I think this was more of a deliberate fuck you from them to Sega, so they could get the jump on the game release.

Think about it. All the fuck ups you mentioned previously with how they've handled otherwise great ideas. That doesn't sound like they're incompetent, it sounds like their actions are planned out and deliberate ways of intentionally screwing with people because they know the customers will put up with it for the sake of playing their favorite games.

This being deliberate might be a stretch. But each to their own. With all the Sega games coming out on Nintendo consoles, I figured the Sega-Nintendo rivalry was long dead.
