The end is in sight for the Mente Materia hiatus... · 1:49am Aug 4th, 2017

Evening folks!

First things first, I want to thank everyone who's been patient with me up to this point and kept the torch burning for the next chapter of Mente Materia. The last year has been pretty terrible for me work and health wise, but that's all about to change! In theory, I should be doing work from home full time sometime next week, which means I'll have significantly greater time to write as well as an environment that doesn't sap my energy or give me headaches.

Also, since folks have been waiting for so long, I might change the target length for chapters going until the end of MM. I might shift to single scene chapters that are around 2 to 3k words, so I can get stuff out more quickly, rather than trying to crank out an 8k leviathan and taking three weeks.

Anywho, thanks again to everyone who gives me the motivation to keep writing. You guys are awesome!

Really good to hear things are looking up for you.

Will be a bit weird to see shorter chapters but there won't be any complaints from me, as long as the awesome keeps coming I'll be happy.

That's good to hear, and you should definitely at least give shorter chapters a try. I obviously can't say if it'll work out better for you or not because different people have different ideal chapter lengths, but you won't know until you try.

Shit's been bad for you so long, it's nice to see things going your way again.

And like 4623234 said, just keep posting awesome chapters and I think most of us will be more than happy.

Glad you're getting to a better place, man. You deserve it

Woo-hoo! :pinkiehappy:

Glad you are doing better arad! And I hope you have better times ahead okay?

I have to say that this is an unexpected but pleasant surprise! Ran across this fic maybe a month ago, and was disappointed when I finished the latest chapter and saw the date it was posted. Looking forward to the rest! Has been a good read.

*blinkblink* ... you will soon return? :pinkiehappy:
I shall wait patiently

Don't mind me; just sitting here, squeeing silently to myself in anticipation.

Carry on, folks.

Just passing by with a metaphorical torch.
Also, glad to hear you're back.

I'd rather the 8k long chapters taking three weeks, if you don't mind me saying.

I always kept the torch burning, your work has kept me connected with the show and I always check the site at least once a week waiting for an update. I hope you find things looking up for you and while I would rather you spend a month and release a big chapter I am just happy with content no matter what.

Personally I prefer the longer chapters but you do you

Welcome back!! Glad to know your feeling better. Might be time to reread your series and catch back up to whats happened.

Hmm i will wait 8k chapters too, but shorter ones will motivate writer more. Anyway health are first prioroty.

Look forward to it bro!!!:pinkiehappy:

Take your time; do what you must.

And, otherwise: yay!

I got the notice about Brightest Spark at work and was very happily surprised, but more importantly, glad to hear things are going better. Post 'em how you want to post 'em, and we appreciate the experience either way. May things keep lookin' up!

Your health is more important than the stories you write - I hope you get well soon.

Well for me 10k+ chapters is better than bunch of 2k ones.

I did that thing where I jump to conclusions before I finish a sentence and read the blog title as "the end is in sight for Mente Materia" and was like -oh no what happened!- the finished the bit were it read "hiatus" and was like -oh okay- now I feel silly for panicking.

Looking forward to the next installment! I might have to re-read to refresh my memory though...

Oh boy, itza coming

Hell yeah

*Bart Scott voice* CAN'T WAIT.

It's good to see you're back and better than ever. And just as I'm getting interested in MLP fanfictions again, too.

I don't mind the shorter chapters and in fact, I prefer it that way. Especially since I'm a slow reader. I like not spending a whole afternoon just to read a single chapter because it's 10k+ words.

Either ways, I'll look forward your future works.

Mente Materia... any progress on updating?

It was four and half months since this was posted and still not even hint about progress.

Personally - I don't care if it takes you two months to write a chapter.

Stardust was the first fanfic - of any genre - that I had read in a long time. It was also the first story ever to have my utmost attention within the first three paragraphs. I finished reading that about a month ago, and was ecstatic upon checking your profile and finding several stories set in this universe.

Being I don't have a large amount of free time in my schedule however, I unfortunately had to skip over one or two things between Stardust and Mente Materia. I did however read the fic about Twilight attempting to get back into daily life upon her return to Equestria. I'm getting sidetracked here, so please forgive me, Arad.

In order to summarize all I desire to say and spare myself from sounding like a rabid fan, allow me to state this fact: YOU ARE A FUCKNG BADASS.

I truly do hope that you have all of the proper conditions available to continue work on this masterpiece. I wish you luck, and if you ever require assistance and/or support, I am here.

On a somewhat related note; what happened to the YT gameplays?

six months later and still nothing....welp I'm out and thanks for creating a world that people liked only to let it rot and die.

...and taking three weeks.

It was thirty weeks and you don't even answer to askers.

We are still here for the story.

That hiatus are streching so long. I hope that reason are writer's health not motivation and health get better soon.

I have read some fanfics here (Backwards through the mirrir, Fallout Equestria) and lot of local Estonian SF, horror and fantasy stories from local fanzines. All of those are weaker or stronger but always let me feel like they are amateurish, not like real literature.

But your Stardust and sequels have quite different skill, this let me feel like i read some classics like Asimov or Lem or Simak, not beginners tests, such pieces are worth for hardcover releases.

It will be very sad, if MM come to standstill.
