Equestria at War Update - The Way of Fire (2.2)

Hey there everybody! I've emerged from the darkness to help spread the news about another project that I'm working on. As I've mentioned in the past, in addition to being a fimfic author, I'm also a senior writer on the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War (discord link here), which is a fun (and sometimes very time consuming) volunteer project to dedicate

Equestria at War: Shores of Zebrica

Hey hey people, been a while hasn't it? Yeah, it's ya boy with another one of those "drop off the face of the earth and then post a blog post out of the blue" moments. At least they only last a couple of months (usually) right?

The August Update: Stories, Cons, and More! · 5:50pm Aug 2nd, 2017

I've kind've been dead for a bit, haven't I? I usually find something to blog about at least once a month, but I didn't say peep basically all of July. Well, at least that means you guys get a bunch of news and stuff in this blog!

First order of business: the results for Jake the Army Guy's contest came in, and my entry, Dashes to Dashes, Dust to Dust got an honorable mention out of 40 entrants, putting it in the top 6! Though of course I was hoping to be one of the three winners, I'm not going to complain about that. I'm happy that the story did as well as it did; maybe I should write more DustxDash stuff in the future, eh?

Look at these two cuties. So adorable!

Second order of business: yup, it's almost that time of the year again, when the great denizens of the fandom converge on the greatest horsecon on the planet! Bronycon will be firing up again next week from the 11th-13th, and for the fourth year running or something like that, I'm gonna be there as well. Only this time, I'll be hosting my own panel! Now that Bronycon has finally released their schedule of events, I can proudly say that I'm going to be hosting my panel, "Brothers in Arms: How to Write Entertaining Fight Scenes," on Friday at 11AM in the Hall of the Planets! If you want to learn how I craft the fight scenes many of you know me for (and how I slaughter your favorite characters therein), come check it out!

Apart from that, I'll just be wandering the convention hall and Inner Harbor, so you'll be able to see the tall lanky guy somewhere, I'm sure. Check out Quills & Sofas, or try to track me down on my Snapchat! If you have Snapchat and are interested in seeing things how the pegasus sees them, you can follow me there (just look up jtarantino24; yes, my last name is the same as Quentin Tarantino, and yes, I do get asked a lot if I'm related). I promise I'll try to keep things entertaining!

And lastly, some story update news...

There's a lot of things going on in the works. This Friday, the first book in my latest series will be finished! Two Thousand Miles: Echoes of the Past will be receiving its final chapter and epilogue, concluding the first of four books in Ember's journey. This book was incredibly fun to write, and I'm already halfway through the second book. I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of the year so I can release it early next year, but who knows. Maybe if I stop getting distracted by games and stuff like that...

And speaking of distractions to my writing, you guys can expect a new story to be posted after Bronycon! This story is going to be a little different, though; it's my first attempt at creating and maintaining a daily story. I may have cheated a little bit and created a month's worth of chapters in the bank to cover my inevitable laziness, but I'm hoping that you guys will enjoy the story. What's it about? Hint: it's my favorite ship. Fimfic needs more long-form stories of this couple, and I aim to deliver!

And beyond that... well, I have been playing a lot of one particular game as of late. It's inspired a collaborative project that I'm working on with LoyalLiar behind the scenes (no, he's not dead. Not yet, at least). Maybe you'll see more of this in the future.

That's all for now! August is going to be a pretty hype month for me (and hopefully for you lot, by extension). I'm looking forward to all to come!

Glad to hear an update! what is your plan on updating "A Rainbow of a Different Color"? Are you putting it on hiatus? Just waiting for the interest to come back in writing it? Cancelling it (please no)? Either way, I look forward to future updates! Good luck!

Brothers in Arms: How to Write Entertaining Fight Scenes

Boy do I need this. Does Bronycon stream panels?

I'm not sure. I know that they record panels, but not all of them. Don't know whether they'll be recording mine or not.

I'll have to keep an eye out.

Good luck!

Oh, neat.

I just read this fic and enjoyed it, and am also making a trip to BC this year. I'll be hanging out in Quills and Sofas with the other nerds writers, so I hope to see you there!
