Now YouTube has just decided to delete YouTube channels and Google accounts that are 'controversial'. Their definition of 'controversial' is pretty broad; comedy, news, anything that goes against what mainstream media says, and more!
Isn't the future looking grand? :')
P.S. Facebook, Twitter, and all of the other social media sites have pretty much taken the same stance.
And with net neutrality, they can pretty much make you pay extra to access sites like 4Chan, Reddit, Minds.com, and so forth that somewhat let you voice your opinion. :')
Damn, I've heard so much of the stuff around. These days it's too sensitive to even try to make some people smile on the internet on social media crud

4620742 I think they main motive for all of this is major censorship. All of these big companies are coming together and 'conveniently' deciding that they don't want anything controversial on their sites. It's all very fishy.
4620745 I imagine a lot the reasoning behind this is also because these companies keep getting sued by 'offended' people. So it causes them to add more and more rules to their site to comply with legal pressure and other factors.

I remember hearing the washington post made a hit piece on pewdiepie getting views and ads on a video with the N word that was crap and it wasn't believed by many people, but then the ads getting cold feet really kicked in and youtube, destined to save their pockets on ads, tried cutting pieces off
4620750 It is going to get to the point where the mainstream media (and mainstream broadcasting in general) will be the only voice allowed on the internet. Which sounds a lot like the opposite of free speech to me. <_<
