It's been a long December and there's reason to believe...

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

I'd say more, but let's not tempt fate, she seems to be having a rough year too.

    Have you voted yet?

This isn't an endorsement, I have no facts and figures to offer you, no scandals to mention. I'll just say that this election may well be the most noteworthy in quite some time for the turnout, and early voting is still happening tomorrow. If you mailed yours in, check to make sure it was received. If it wasn't, there is still time to vote in person and cancel the mail in. No matter how you do

State of Resolve: Speaking Of Other Stories That Have Needed An Ending For Five Years... · 7:38am Aug 1st, 2017

Sweet Celestia, that was a thing.

I'll need some time to decompress after this, decide how I feel about ending a project that I have been working on for nearly the length of my time in the fandom.

477,898 words. I began working on this in the middle of April 2012. That hardly makes me the most prolific author, but an average of 7500 words a month just on this story. Not too shabby.

I'll probably put out another post about more boring things like thoughts on the story, little tidbits people might find interesting, but not right now.

Right now, if you've been waiting for that complete tag, dive in. If you've been following along, now would be an excellent time to binge.

Now... Now I have some things on the backburner that can get shifted forward for a bit. More soon, watch this space.

Congratulations!

I've been putting off reading it again until it was finished. I'm going to have to dig back into this.

"What comes next? You've been freed..."
Okay no, it's 4:30 I'm not getting into a Hamilton binge now, but congrats on finally getting the end out. One less giant expectation looming over your shoulder, yeah? :trollestia:

Holy shit. I dropped this story into my "tracking" list... ages ago. I check occasionally to see when things go "complete," but I rarely check word count. I can't believe I have a 477 kiloword story to plow through now. Well not now, but soon. Happily moving from "tracking" to "read later!"

Also, congratulations on the enormous milestone. My longest story is like 9,000 words, and that took ages to sculpt.

I can't possibly tell you how "about F***ing time" this is. I imagine it feels pretty damn good. Has this story effectively trained you in the fine art of ignoring plot bunnies?

Damn... so it finally happened. Well, not really "Finally" because I'm still sad to see such a great story finished xD But even so. It's been a long road.

Holy shit, dude, congrats!

This kind of dedication is frankly an inspiration.

How's it feel?

:fluttershysad: Oh my, no. You mustn't just ignore bunnies. Bunnies will do what bunnies will do. What I learned is all about the care and maintenance of bunnies, because if you leave them to their own devices they will do it even more. You should not follow every bunny, but try to keep an eye on all of them. Ignoring them just leads to stampedes, and nopony wants that.

A bit... relieving? I've finished long stories before, but Green was always in the background, the primary focus of my creative energies. And while I still have ideas, I'm weirded out that I don't have a new chapter of Green already ready for next month.
4620045
Dedication is... a word to use, yes. Another word is obsession, or determination, or sheer-bloody-mindedness.

4619978 More stories, of course.

4620037 Heh, more like chipped away at.

4619986 Indeed.

oh shi-
time to binge

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I'm so going in.

oops, I forgot. Will there be another stories in the same universe?

4620134
Yes, but the story is over for the mane couple.

Thank you so much for finishing it!

4620505
Sorry but also not for taking so long. I had a lot of fun not finishing it. Which isn't to say that ending it wasn't fun too.

4620532
It's just... so many great stories remain unfinished. Over the last three years I have been waiting update for "Green" every month with my breath held because I wanted to see it going on, to see it finished one day. And it is finished now, it's like a holiday - many failed to, but this one did it. I think it is appropriate to congratulate with success.
And you have nothing to be sorry about when it comes to time it took you to finish "Green", it took as much as needed for story to be great.
By the way, it has been nagging me for some time, and I'm pretty sure that you have been asked this question before: what does "Green" mean as name of the story? Is it a reference to "Green isn't your color"? Or is it about "green" as color of youth or color of inexperience? As English is not my native language, true meaning of the name of your story eludes me.
And thank you again, I haven't been this happy for a long time.

WHEW LAD. That must have been quite a feeling tagging it complete.

4620574 It has many meanings. It is a reference to the episode, but it's also about jealousy. It can certainly mean I was inexperienced as a writer, as this was my third story ever written and I have essentially learned practically everything I know about writing while composing this one story :rainbowlaugh:

Mostly, though, it was a very simple name for a story that became very complex. And I love it.

That was the last chapter! Well, I still have a fair bit to catch up on. Just had so much... stuff going on, I haven't been able to read. Not at all that I lost interest in the story or anything like that. I remain curious as to how they resolve all the convoluted things they've all gotten into in their relationships. At least now when I get to the end of it, it'll be the actual end.

Here looks like a more suitable space for... this. Whatever It actually is.

Might I bother you for a teeny tiny, small request? Some codfish oil for my chest. Wait, no.

I am most intrigued by the history between that dragon, whose name was mentioned in one chapter and started with Y, and Celestia and Luna; and by extension the adventure Luna is dragging Midnight Oil and his wife on (Sorry, but being mentioned in two chapters and maybe one episode if it's the character I think it is, although probably not because that character has the title Empress rather than being a diplomat, is not enough for me to remember the name. Especially when it's a rather foreign name).
