    Audiobook Announcement

I'm excited to announce that I'm working on an audiobook for Hooves of Fate. I started with Chapter 63: Rivers. This way, long-time readers of HoF can reorient themselves to the momentum of the story before the upcoming release of Chapter 64 (text) this Saturday.

    The Voice of the People

They can cancel Friendship is Magic. They can cancel Make Your Mark. But they can never silence the voice of the people.

    Flurry Heart's Reign of Terror

I stayed up till 2am last night talking with a friend - orchestrating a plot - theorizing what precisely it would take for (young adult) Flurry Heart to successfully depose both of her parents, and Twilight Sparkle.

Help! My Heart is Full of Pony! - The Future · 8:35pm Jul 31st, 2017

Source: MLP: FIM Season 5, Episode 26

The year is 275,624 A.D.

Life on earth is no more. After a long, eerie silence that lasted an epoch, aliens come, and discover our planet. They step out of their saucers, out onto the dusty wastes. They scan the surface, as well as the first few layers below the earth's crust, but here is no physical evidence that we were ever here - not even fossils. Those were all destroyed by the Great Cataclysmic Lava Party of 32,411 A.D.

All that remains of our civilization, or of life on this planet, is a recording of the first seven seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's survived for some reason or other because of, um...science or something.

The point is that we are remembered for having been ponies because the aliens think that the creators of the show must have been ponies. This archaeological discovery causes excitement back on their home world. Their scholars throw everything they have into understanding our culture. The message of earth friendship, or rather Equestria friendship, catches fire with the youngsters of the X'lythazar Clan, and inspires peace with the opposing Zemdons.

The Great Emperor Sombra of Q'alazareth is overthrown due to growing unrest related to his name, which is coincidentally the same name as the Crystal Empire's former tyrant's.

Everything about their world changes for the better. It's not like Galaxy Quest, where they think that the stories are real. The X'ythazar know that My Little Pony is a work of fiction. However, the message goes viral because sometimes all it takes is the right message to come along at the right time. It doesn't matter that the story is fiction. In fact, the message is all the more powerful because of it.

There is only one sad irony to this turn of events: that no matter how much the aliens translate, and study the show, they will never know of humans, and will therefore, never be able to appreciate all of the horse puns which, being purely referential humor, can only be funny in contrast to our own world.

I'd read a whole series about these events.

Wow. That would be something.

I suppose it would be sort of an ironic sort of thing considering the Magic of Friendship is something that most people say aspire too, but as a species, we sort of fall short at times as a whole. Then the show even outlives us and then actually inspires an alien species to achieve it. There's just something there that gets a little chuckle out of me when thinking about that premise of a short story.:pinkiehappy:

That sounds amazing! :raritystarry:
