A Random Poem · 12:52am Jul 17th, 2017
Occasionally I like to dabble in poetry. I'm not very good at it, nor am I particularly determined to become good at it, but sometimes it's fun to give it a try and see what comes out. I apologize for the somewhat peculiar subject matter, I was watching a movie on NetFlix (you can find some weird stuff on there) and decided to toy around with the idea. If you like it let me know and maybe I'll share future attempts at poetry. If not I might not... though, really, I'll do it or not based on my mood, for the most part.
She Suffers
A cry of fear that nobody listens to
She's being stubborn is what they say
A cry of fear that continues beyond the closed door
A cry of fear that is here to stay
Barely audible through the door the protests can be heard
Unheeded by the ones who share implicit trust
Barely audible through the door it becomes barely a word
Before that implicit trust is turned to dust
Watching later as those eyes turn to glass
And her voice fades into a meek whimper
Drifting back into the nearby past
She does nothing but stare and whimper
You realize it's your fault, the only one who heard it all
She suffers because of your fear and doubt
Because you didn't trust what you heard through the wall
Because you took too long to figure it out
Too late the truth comes to spare a life of pain
Your failure can be seen in her eyes
She'll remember it forever like an ever-falling rain
For the rest of your life you will remember her cries
