    Arms and Armament

So, I was catching up on some blog posts this morning, and happened upon one which discussed the way objects can reflect characters, and happened to use their choices of weapons as an example. Which set me off down the track of contemplating what, in Equestria's earlier and rather rougher pieces of history, might our favorite protagonists arm themselves with should such warlike preparations be

    Color Coordination

Given the full-spectrum range of coat and mane colors among Equestrian ponies, can you imagine the trouble planners of any sort of public event that needs a seating chart must have? Not only do they have to take into account all the same considerations that we do, but Earthly event planners don't have to worry about accidentally creating eye-wateringly bad color combinations by accident.

    Military Controversy

Is the basic earth pony military unit infantry, or cavalry?

Please overthink as much as possible, then justify your answers.

    A Few Words

I've been conlanging some more, and since some of the words this time are of Advancedverse relevance, thought I'd drop a pointer here.

Misc Thoughts During A Rewatch Of The Season 5 Opening · 6:41am Jul 13th, 2017

"I bet there's some sort of horrific monster behind it."

- Rainbow Dash, Element of Accidental Honesty

So, I'm going to assume that it was the harmonic magic inherent to heartsongs/spontaneous-and-not-quite-spontaneous musical outbreaks that took the creepy Orwellian subtext in "Our Town" and turned it into plain old text.

Hypothesis: the last timeline, the burnt-out wasteland with no visible life anywhere, from the season finale? That's the one in which Starlight got her way and brought her equality cult to the whole of Equestria. Given the way her limiter hexes seem to work (nopony can be better than the worst pony at anything), slapping a couple of those on Celestia and Luna probably made the sun and moon fall right out of the sky. Oops.

Seems like a reasonable hypothesis. They were kind of running out of villians at that point. My hypotheses for that scenario are threefold:

• Starlight not thinking things through
• Trixie never removing the Alicorn Amulet and bringing about her wheelless paradise (and incidentally killing everything. Somehow.)
• Sunset Satan destroying the mirror portal behind her as she returns to Equestria, which does decidedly unpleasant things to both worlds.

Of course, I'm not sure if Equestria Girls is even a thing in the Pony-Eldraeverse, so there's that. :derpytongue2:

I had assumed not so far - subject to better ideas as I go - as the terms of the fusion get awkwardly hard to hold up with another world of colorful hominins out there, even if I salt with copious alternate-universality and assume they're colorful pointy-eared hominins.

On the other hand, and assuming that Star Swirl never counted on anyone trying to use the mirror from the physiologically opposite side to usual:

Cordelia Vintar-ith-Vidutar, personal log:

Today I fell through a mirror, turned into a small colorful horse, and was hugged for seven straight hours by someone who appears to be the local analog of Fluttershy.

...even with the usual Exploratory Service offset, this must be what going mad feels like.
