Wish list? Hmmm.

Cynewulf did a blog post asking writers about their wish lists. I answered there, and decided to repost my answer here.

Non-pony

I’d like to self publish a novel on Amazon. Just so I can show it to the world. I play with ideas all the time. I still hope to do this one.

Collaborate with a friend of mine on a non-pony story. I hope to do this some day, even if it’s just a short story.

Pony

My pony wish list is different. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to any of these.

Collaborating with someone on FimFiction sounds like fun. Maybe someone should do a collaboration contest.

Write my Sunlight friendship fic. Set after Friendship Games, it’s a spiritual sequel to the deleted scene animatic where Sunset talks to Twi about possibly coming back to Equestria. What if Sunset did come back for a visit to Ponyville, and had to decide to stay or to go back to the world of hairless apes? A chance to show that Sunset was an awesome pony and deserved to be Celestia’s student, while maintaining that Twilight is also awesome and deserves to be the Princess of Friendship.

Novelize the The Last Days of The Kingdom of Equestria - an epic of how Twilight created the future by losing everything. Many of my stories (Awesome Is As Awesome Does, and No Pony Can Do That for example) are actually part of this world. The biggest challenge here is making Twilight look smart enough to manipulate everything, without making everypony else (including the author) look like an idiot.

Novelize Succession. It’s a slice of court life / drama of how Twilight and Cadance rule Equestria after Celestia and Luna move on. I’d like to do this to show how awesome Cadance can be when she’s not being overshadowed.

Rewrite No Pony Can Do That, my Fluttershy as uber-powerful superheroine adventure. I love the ideas, but the current execution needs work. I still think about doing this because the thought of unstoppable Fluttershy makes me giggle.

Write a sequel to Teatime. I even have notes and a title, “Courtship, The Romance of Twilight and Celestia”. Unfortunately, my current ideas are little dark, and I don’t want to live in darkness for the months it would take to write it.

Do a reading of Teatime and post it to YouTube. I may still do this one of these days.

Write a story and enter it into a competition. I almost did something for Mono’s Rarilight event. Maybe next time.
