Wing Invades to Update on Print Run · 2:44am Jul 6th, 2017
Where update = rant. :P
Hey everyone! Wing here. Yes, Wing... making a blog here because it relates to NLD, and I don't want people to miss it. If you ordered a copy of NLD/ASoD and are still patiently waiting for it, please read this. If you didn't and want to be entertained by really awful manufacturing, also please read. The TLDR is that your books are coming. The long story is the printers really screwed up.
Now, for those who like numbers, 29 books were ordered in this little run. That's not a lot by any stretch of the imagination, but things didn't go so well. Some of you might have seen my blog when the matter first appeared.
If you didn't see my blog, things looked like the crap you see above. 13/29 books I received in the first shipment were damaged, including in ways never before imagined--like the spine compacting you see before you today.
Before I continue to fall off the deep end on this, I do want to say that the rep handling my claims at this company has been an absolute boss. The production line, however, needs to learn what QC is. So the 2nd batch showed up while Sober was visiting me. And of the 12 replacements I received, 3 of those were messed up.) Then the replacements' replacements had problems.
Gems like this:
The gist: 40% of the books I've received are damaged. They are in the zone of poor quality that is far from the exceptional level I want to deliver to the folks who have some desire to own physical copies of the words I wrote with Sober.
But fear not! Things are coming together. Though, I am being a bit paranoid with my packaging. The last thing I want to hear from anyone is, "Wing... the book came, but it's all messed up." My method for this is: wrap, bag, cardboard sandwich, box.
I'm getting there, so I just wanted to thank those waiting for waiting patiently. And, as always, thanks to all the readers who are enjoying the story.
Peaces,
Wing
Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear about that, Wing.
Name and shame the printer.
I've seen this offset issue on several copies of Past Sins' second edition. It kinda happens, don't know how though.
