    I'm Still Alive and Kicking

Don't let the title fool you, this is very much an "I'm not dead" post. As I've realized that I haven't been the most active (nearly inactive) for the past... year? and seeing as I have continued work on a story, I thought I'd make myself known again. I am hoping that the story will be finished by the end of the week, but there is no guarantee.

    A Much Needed Update

I know I haven't really done anything in several months, and with my new living arrangements it makes it rather difficult to write at night... or any other time after seven in the afternoon. I'm aware that it is also the third month into the new year; which if I was following my original intention that means that I should be doing a story a month (one-shots mostly) or making some headway on the

    Tragic News to the Readers

I thought I would inform the people who are waiting for more chapters of Dark Ponies: The Rising about a recent change.

    The story is now canceled.

    Possible New Clop

I was wondering, if I made a new clop (non-request) would anyone read it? I suspect it would have near as good quality as the other, if not better, and the um... sexy... stuff won't be changed out of my wording. Um... I'm not sure what else to say.

    Until next time, I guess?

Confusion for this Writer · 10:00am Jul 3rd, 2017

So... recently I started to re-watch the show from the beginning. And just moments ago (as I write this) I finished re-watching "Ticket Master", while watching I came upon something that is rather perplexing. Or to me it is anyways. Below the break is some spoilers for the episode... you have been warned.

In the episode Twilight deals with the problem of not wanting to disappoint others when she gets tickets to The Grand Galloping Gala. All of her friends give her reasons on why they want to go (and a limb or two cough_Applejack_cough), as selfish as the reasons might be, and they do what anyone/pony does in the situation. They try bribery, and a "kiss-up" approach to getting the tickets.

Twilight, reveling in the fact that each of her friends wants a ticket, can't decide and sends the tickets back to Celestia. Celestia sends back a ticket for everyone/pony, including Spike, saying that she should have just said that in the first place. Now for the confusing part: when each of the characters leave the library; each ticket is being telekinetically held above their heads. How you might ask.

Well, my friend said that it was Twilight who did that. But I am less inclined to believe that Twilight can keep track of six different objects moving in a seemingly random way, and that Twilight only held up her ticket. Now, Rarity can be explained as she is a Unicorn and can hold her own ticket. But, how about the rest of them?

In conclusion I ask this: How is it that the other characters were able to levitate the tickets when they don't have magic? (Also, if people want me to do a little review-esk type of thing for each episode I can. Where I can give my thoughts, opinions, and add some little twist that I happen to come up with; all pertaining to either the episode or an experience [as a side note... I seem to always misspell the word experience.] I have had that can relate to that kind of thing.)

Don't see why Twilight couldn't levitate 6 pieces of paper, she is a unicorn with talent for magic. Not exactly world changing spell. Anyway the tickets were probably enchanted, possibly by Celestia if the magic glow matters this early in the season.

I know Twilight has talent and such. But does she have the talent to lift four tickets that are perfectly held above the heads of her friends? All of which are behind her, where she wouldn't be able to see.

Magical glow (or the magical field) wasn't such an importance, but an enchantment (while plausible, just doesn't hold up). Otherwise why do we not see that sort of thing more often?

Having no logical reason for why something like magic not working in a function of rules is something that makes it... well, bad magic.

Twilight doesn't have to levitate them, she can just enchant them to float near the carrier. And well Twilight can time travel, teleport, mass hypnotize groups of ponies, also make large groups being unable to move, can enter books, make an entire specie change eating habits, can communicate over long distances by possessing an object and more. So yeah levitating several pieces of paper is not really far fetching. Though Rarity's horn is glowing too I believe so it can be both Twi and Rarity. And well MLP magic pretends it has rules but isn't consistent, at least in my humble opinion.

As for why we don't see it more often, probably because it was first episode that they made and didn't yet figure out how to have pony carry something and walk at same time. But later they became more creative and there was no need for that shortcut. Same for hugging as in early episodes ponies just nuzzled each other.
Besides show often introduced concepts and then barely referenced it ever again. Like Pinkie Sense. Consider it Early Installment Weirdness trope.

While Twilight can do those. She can't do them at that point in the show. She doesn't even have control of her teleportation spell at that point. And it would be highly unlikely that Twilight could enchant them, it would be far more plausible if Celestia were to have done that. "MLP magic pretends it has rules but isn't consistent" I can agree to that... sadly.

While I can understand the part of not knowing how to properly do thing (for the show's writers) that certainly shouldn't excuse such an "over-sight." Given it could have been on purpose, but that is why I am so perplexed by it. It seems it is something many people say along the lines of: "Twilight was the one levitating it, she is a master at magic." But that comes with the part of: "yes, she is a 'master', but not at that time. She was just starting to get into the deeper stuff." Anyway, without repeating myself anymore than I have. The pinkie sense seems to have become more of a background element... though that sounds a little unreasonable; I'm going to stop with that... I'm far to biased.
